T.S. writes: Hello! I've been finding your database of La Mulana information to be quite informative and has helped me out a few times when I've been stuck. I do have to ask about one apparent mistake in your database, however, that being the location of the Konami Ping-Pong ROM. According to your guide, the ROM exists at coordinates G-5 in the Endless Corridor but those coordinates don't exist on that map. Thanks for making the database, though!

Corrected, thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to compile this information. It's helped me through a lot of tough areas, without revealing too much =D Are there any plans on compiling a complete walkthrough?

Anonymoos writes: Oh yeah, a walkthrough would be nice. Especially a section about how to get to the hell part. The japanese one is kinda okay, but has a couple of errors and sometimes it's hard to figure out what it actually means to get "it appears at sashimi tuna animu kowaii place [the]" >_>. Btw, could anyone help me a little bit? I'm stuck in the chamber of extinction; there's just no visible way to make the murals appear. The switch for them is supposed to be the one in the image below, but I can't get to it.. (hope [img] works!) Might it be related to the door the key fairy made appear a bit right of the teleport gravestone? 'Cause I'm stuck there as well because I can't get past this point: Help would be appreciated!

klez writes: For the mural, you can't reach that switch on "this side", the tablet tells you already that there's a "small" and "large" cross that's connected, so... And the door the key fairy created is a tribute to Maze of Galious (or knightmare 2), the msx game that la-mulana is based on. If you have heard (or played) Maze of Galious you should know what to do. White knell are you writing a walkthough? Cuz I'm thinking of writing one too; but if you are then I won't bother :P

darkreaver: Corrected, thanks!
klez: No, I won't be writing any sort of walkthrough.

As for the Galious problem, I tried that password before, looked up some walkthroughs that told me to do what I already did, tried out other passes and rom combos, but the real problem was elsewhere; mulana apparently doesn't read keystrokes correctly. I'm writing on a German keyboard where the Z and Y keys are switched, and guess what happened when I typed ZOMAR =/. Maybe someone *coughcough >_o* should add that little info to the ROM listing.

White Knell Thursday, March 1, 2007 7:33:52 AM

There is an invisible warp inside of the large cross in the Chamber of Birth that transports you to the interior of the matching cross in the Chamber of Extinction. You'll need to place a Weight there.

Once you have done so a wall mural will appear in the Chamber of Extinction near to the gateway connecting it to the Temple of the Sun. You'll need to bring both the Plane Model (found in the Tower of the Goddess) and the Pochette Key to that mural and leap before it to reveal a pedestal above. Place a Weight on the pedestal and the Ankh will appear.

I have the felling I missed something big, though. Will defeating the Temple of the Sun/Spring in the Sky bosses remove the red statues in the Twin Labyrinths? Also I can’t destroy the wall in the Chamber of Extinction. It can't be bombs because I can't go to the Graveyard yet, right?

"Will defeating the Temple of the Sun/Spring in the Sky bosses remove the red statues in the Twin Labyrinths?"

No.

"Also I can't destroy the wall in the Chamber of Extinction."

I'm not exactly certain which wall it is that you're referring to. Which room is it in?

"I have the felling I missed something big, though."

Don't worry so much. La-Mulana is highly nonlinear — there are countless ways to proceed through the game.

Anonymous writes: Do people still visit this thread? If you're entering the place for the first time, you can get by with temporary illumination. That is, you enter the bottom path, stumble blindly for a ladder, and start scanning until you find a tablet. The rest should be obvious. Now then, I'm completely stuck trying to find the ankh jewel for Palenque. I've already beaten the boss, but using the jewel I found in the Twins' Labyrinth. The only hint I have is something about a "shop that sells a jewel" "where life is born", but I've scoured the Chamber of Birth so many times, now... I've made it this far without help, and don't want to resort to a walkthrough... but I'm so stuck!!
