Recently Opera Software released new technology preview version of Opera 9 browser that fixes some important CSS bugs affecting rendering of inline expressions in general and mathematical formulae in particular.
After this fixes Opera becomes the first browser that managed to handle CSS version of torture and stress tests intended to check whether level of CSS support in rendering engine is sufficient to format complex mathematical formulae in XML×CSS publishing framework.
We would like to thank Opera CTO Håkon Wium Lie, Grand Moose, core developers and quality assurance team for the great job that they have done to improve CSS support in Presto rendering engine.
Now we have two CSS implementations: Prince 5 and Opera 9 that can format mathematics via CSS and developing science oriented XML applications now makes much more sense.
