2. Walkthrough My.Opera - Tell more about yourself
The page you will be directed to can also be accessed thru Profile link ih header and Edit Profile under Preferences
Step 1: You are here! Click on Tell more about yourself!
You are not obligated to fill this, but if you really want to be a part of this communty it would be nice to tell others a thing or two about yourself. This page is very clear, however there are couple of things you might want to see cleared out.

Photo - Picture you upload here will be used in your blog / album sidebar and also on your about page. It can be as big as you want since it will be automatically rescaled to 320x240 pixels.

Avatar - Picture uploaded here will be used in your forum posts and if you become a member of some group it will be shown next to your group blog posts!

Personal - All these informations will be shown in your About page, however Name, City, country and Occupation will also be shown in your blog / photo album sidebar.

Instant Messaging - Most of people already know what this is, for others there is Wikipedia. Important thing is that your accouts will be secure from e-mail spiders!

Privacy - You can select if your online status will be shown in your About page and also if you e-mail will be hidden, shown to anyone or shown only to people that are your friends. You e-mail will be secure from e-mail spiders!

Community Messaging - All members of the community have a way of communicating via private messages (Messages in header, if there are new, number is shown!), and here you can select if you want to be able to recieve messages from everyone (suggested) or only from friends and moderators.

Time zone - What you set here will be used to show correct times for blog or forum posts on the whole community!

Languages - This is I believe very clear.

About me - This will be shown in your About page. HTML and BB code can be used.

My work - This will be shown in your About page. HTML and BB code can be used.

Why I choose the Opera browser - Same as the above, but if you select Include me on the why I choose Opera page your entry will be shown on Opera Fans page.

Fast facts - Whatever you fill in will be shown in your profile. Empty field won't be shown.

Quote - The quote is shown next to your photo, when someone adds you to their friend list. Your friend list can be seen in your blog menu under Friends, and their names will also be shown on About page.
3. Walkthrough My.Opera - Preferences - Web page layout

Step 1: You are here! Click on Web page layout!

Here you will be able to select one of couple predefined templates. These are made so most of not so skilled users can customize their space.
You can select whichever you want, however if you would like to customise it, I would suggest you to leave it as is and hit custom style sheet link.
If you decide to try modifying, read this tutorial, if not, make a choice and save it.
4. Walkthrough My.Opera - Configuring your blog

Step 1: You are here! Click on Get started guide!
Step 2: You are here! Click on Start a blog! (Or if you are moving from Blogger - Import a blog from Blogger)
Step 3: You are here!
As you can see, this page is very easy to get around, however, few things may need some explaining.

Blog title - Will be shown in header on blog page, the way you currently can see "Username's page".

Subtitle - Will be shown below big text in header in smaller letters.

Blog description - This will only be visible on the blog overview page.

Number of posts per page - Clear, isn't it? Because of the size and length of the page 15 or less is suggested, but any number can be used.

Convert linebreaks - This convert linebreaks of text files

Show blog to everyone - Here you decide if your blog will be public, private or made for your friends only.

Allow comments - Here you decide if your blog will have comments, and who will be able to write. You can later enable anonymous comments too.

Trackback - If selected, they will be shown under post text.

Enable MMS blogging - One of the features of mobile blogging

Blog language - Here you can select primary language on which you will keep your blog. In future it is expected to have full blog interface translated to language you desire.
This page is also very logical, however some elements might be a bit unclear to some.

B I U and other icons - These icons control codes that are used to format text, links and images.

Post title - Obvious.

Message - Obvious.

Post settings - Here you can see two things. Disable smilies in this post will stop codes used for smilies from being parsed if found in post. Show this as a sticky post will show post stickied to the top of your blog.

Post access - Publicly available post will be shown to all visitors, Friends only are just for friends and Private will be viewable only by blog owner.

Tags / Popular tags - Here you should type tags that will describe your post.

Add images/files - This is used for attaching files or inserting images from your local hard drive.
Step 5: You are on your blog! Now enter Preferences!
Step 6: You are here! Now enter Blog settings!
Step 7: You are here!
Now you will be able to see three new options you weren't able to see before:

Allow anonymous comments? - This way you can enable comments from guests. There is anti-robotic protection to stop spambots.

Attempt to remove operator signature - For mobile bloggers, if their operators leave signature this feature will try to clear it.

Send me e-mail when comments are added? - If selected, you will recieve e-mail notification for every comment.
5. Walkthrough My.Opera - Using your photo album
The page you will be directed to can also be accessed thru Blog in your site menu
Step 1: You are here! Click on Photo Album!
Step 2: You are here! Click on Start a photo album!
You are familiar with all elements from before since they are basically the same as with blogs, but I'll repeat:

Album name - Obvious.

Description - Obvious.

Allow comments: - Yes will allow comments from all users, No will disable it for everyone and Friends only will enable comments only for people on friends list.

Allow ratings: - Yes will allow ratings from all users, No will disable it for everyone and Friends only will enable ratings only for people on friends list.

Album access: - Publicly available will show album to all Friends only album will be visible for friends Private is for albums you want to keep only for yourself.

Mobile options: Enable MMS - One of the features of mobile albums

Step 3: Now you will be redirected to Upload images
So... what do we have here:

Step 1: Choose images - Here you can select, one or few images (.GIF .JPG or .PNG) or .ZIP archive.

Step 2: Write descriptions - This is optional, and if you decide to write description it would be viewable when you open certain image. HTML and BB code can be used.

Step 3: Add tags - Same as with blogs and albums.

Step 4: Upload - Here you can select between sizes of stored images.
Step 4: Now you will be redirected to Uploaded images
Now you will be able to see all images that were uploaded and upload more if you would like.
After creating your first album the process is practicaly the same but, there are some slight differences.
Photo Albums - Add new album
1. Click on Photo album in your menu
2. Click on Add new album.
Photo Albums - Edit album
1. Click on Photo album in your menu
2. Click on album you want to edit.
3. Click on Edit album
Photo Albums - Edit images
1. Click on Photo album in your menu
2. Click on album which images you want to edit.
3. Click on Edit images
Photo Albums - Add images to album
1. Click on Photo album in your menu
2. Click on album which you want to update.
3. Click on Upload images
Photo Albums - Sort images
1. Click on Photo album in your menu
2. Click on album which you want to sort.
3. Click on Sort images
Last album you uploaded will be shown as a slideshow in your blog sidebar.!

Category name: - Categories of links are titles in blocks in Links page and in Blog sidebar (if selected)

- If selected will be shown among favourite links in your About page. URL, Name, Description are self explanatory.

Show more input fields - If clicked will ad more fields below existing.
Links - Add newsfeed

Lets now explaing these elements:

Name: - Names are titles in blocks in Links page and in Blog sidebar (if selected)

URL - Here you should paste direct link to RSS or Atom feed.

Show this newsfeed in my blog sidebar. - If selected this category will be shown as a block in Blog sidebar
Links - Editing
On Links page there are Edit category buttons and Edit newsfeed buttons right to each category or feed, process is the same as when adding something

Preferences - Spotlights

How can I spotlight something?
At the top of each users page there is a small star icon
You can spotlight users, blogs, photo albums, forums and forum topics.
Your spotlights will be shown on your 'about' page under the heading "Opera Community highlights", and the items with the most spotlights in the entire Opera Community are featured on the offical Community pages.
So, now try it out... visit a blog or photo album that you like and add your first spotlight!
Preferences - Countdowns
Add a countdown that will be shown in the sidebar of your blog.
For example, enter the date 2005-12-31 and the event new years eve and get a countdown to new years eve 2005.
Preferences - Forum settings
Here you can manage few forum related features.
Elements are self explanatory, but I would like to say that images can not be used in forum signatures, and other BB code can.
Preferences - My files
Here you can manage files you attached, or upload something. You have 300 MB of space that you can use for storing images, archives, documents and so on.
Preferences - Ignored users
This is an option you will be able to use after you add someone to your Ignore list. You can add people there when visiting their profile.
Preferences - Access rights
On this page you can change the access rights to your pages.
Preferences - My groups
Here you will be able to manage groups you joined or groups you started.
Preferences - Tags
Here you will be able to add description to tags you use and to also add icons that will be shown in header of each blog post where certain tag is used.
