... but the winter is mostly gray and dull around here. In last year's winter album, I had few photos I loved... None such in this season's album. However, who knows, maybe a nice one appears.

WINTER IN SERBIA - more and less x))(there are three taken in Bosnia)

Well finally we are getting a good one. The snow is piling up as I write and the flakes are getting bigger as the evening moves in. We should get anywhere from 6 to 15 inches tonight. New shots have been posted in my winter album.

I attended a peformance of Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk at the WAMU theatre on December 8, 2007. Of course, we were not permitted to take pictures while the show was in progress but I took as many as I could before the curtain went up . . . and what a curtain it was ! A picture-perfect recreation of ice crystals adorning a window . . . it had the desired effect of making all of us wish for snow (as the main character does throughout most of the show.) The scenery was indeed gorgeous (I'm afraid I could barely do it justice) but the performers themselves were the true stars. Larger-than-life lamposts and dogs and icebergs, skaters and bikers, contortionists, tight-rope walkers, clowns . . . all the elements of a circus were present, but presented with that exotic flair that is so very "Cirque". I would have stayed for the next performance and watched Wintuk all over again if I could have . . . go see it if you get the chance !

We don't have much of winter here in Belgium... at the most some morning frost, but anyway... for us it's still wintertime and I enjoy it. Nature in rest. Gathering strength for the new spring...
