The landscape is going through its annual harvesting cycle, with large bales sitting out in the shorn fields. This shot is fairly heavily processed (I used high levels of noise reduction which creates the flattening of detail). Somehow though I feel it sums up the beauty of the countryside rather better than the properly processed image. An alternative shot (properly processed) is today's 365 entry.

I cannot see a haybale without thinking of those eastern coyotes / tweed wolves I often mention from the Smokies, fast asleep atop of the hay to keep out of reach of curious pups... bigsmile

Adele, wise old coyotes! A nice safe lookout and no messing fro the kids. Sounds perfect!

Mark, it will probably be a few weeks before we know the extent of the foot and mouth. Here's hoping it stays contained, but I wouldn't be surprised if they find a few more cases yet.
