We all know that spawn appears in the early spring, and the tadpoles emerge a little after that. Soon they become froglets, and by late summer they've completed their metamorphosis to become frogs. Well that's the theory, but this little chap was obviously playing truant the day that lesson was given.

Camera note: First tadpole taken with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM. Second tadpole and wood mouse with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro. Squirrel and landscape were captured with the EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS.

Will that tadpole survive the Winter or is he too under developed yet?
Did you see Comet Holmes last night just below Cassipea? i saw it, its a nice blurry star seen just before the moon rose, look at WAB astronomy forum to see a pic of it someone else took:)

Brilliant pictures Words! That tadpole is very late, considering that the adults seem to be searching for hibernation places right now!
I got stuck in a meeting once where the woman sitting next to me spent the whole time cracking her finger knuckles back and forth. It grew somewhat wearying

I don't have high hopes for the tadpole surviving winter but you never know. It certainly eats a lot!
Cracking knuckles in meetings. Ouch! Mind you it's always fascinating when mobiles go off and you get an insight into people's real character by their choice of ringtone.
