Tales of a South Downs fox... and other ramblings

Mother Goose's Babies

, ,

We went over to Wakehurst Place today. The weather was mixed (sunshine/cloud/rain) which meant that it was much quieter there than usual. I'd hoped to see the ducklings, and although some were out and about they had already gone beyond the stage of utter cuteness. They were certainly playful though.

For cuteness I had to rely on the greylags. An adult pair and six goslings to be precise. Cute as cute could be, and as with most parkland fowl utterly unconcerned at the prospect of a camera being pointed at them. This is a tiny selection of what I got.

And as a last image here's one of the adults with the young.

Neil, it was seeing the ducklings on Mark's blog that reminded me not to waste any more time.
