Just a couple from the garden

KestrelLater, the Bold vixen came by and discovered a small egg (pigeon?) that had appeared on the ground. It had already been broken into so she sniffed and eventually left it be. I may have more about how the egg got there on the trail cam (I don't think it was there when I set the camera up, and it should be in view). That'll have to wait until tomorrow.
Vixen with small eggI also finally got a shot I've been after for some time now. She has a habit of exiting the garden over the garage roof, and clearly is unperturbed by the steep drop on the far side. Until tonight she's been rather too nimble for me to capture a decent shot of her up there, but I was semi-prepared this time and had moved around to get a good line if she did decide to go out that way.
Rooftop vixenCamera note: the kestrel was photographed with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Both vixen photos were taken with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.

I see kestrels flying over my garden sometimes but generally very high up.
