Not the best shot of a green woodpecker that I've taken, but the setting was beautiful. As ever, it disappeared almost as soon as I'd seen it.

Well, that's tolerant for a woodpecker!

I saw no less than four of the things (two greens and two GSWs) while walking out of the village to the station the other morning. And of course I didn't have my camera...

Adele, I'm sure they can smell a camera at 100 yards. No camera? Out they come, singing, dancing, doing tricks. And as the lens appears... they ghost away into nothing. Spooky!
