Frame 47I found a good view point looking down the race track. I was shooting slightly into the sun, but had a much longer view down the track from the side I was on due to the bend. I started shooting as they came over the brow of the hill. The camera was set to shoot in jpg format which meant the buffer could cope with virtually indefinite continuous firing at 6 frames a second without locking up (in RAW I get about 16 shots before it slows down and then stalls/stops, which is fine for most wildlife, but not for sports).
Camera note: all shots taken with the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens supported by a Manfrotto 685B Neotec monopod and 234RC tilt head.
