And two shots from this evening. She was only in the garden for a few minutes, but it's about a week since I'd last seen the bold vixen. There are still signs of a slight limp, but nothing as severe as it had been, and she was able to jump down and use the 'weaker' leg for landing.

Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D. The deer were photographed with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. I used the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM and Canon 430EX flash unit for the vixen.

Good to see her in a good shape

Very happy looking deer. We notice our cats acting this way when the weather turns cooler, especially if there is a bit of wind. Would this be the case with your deer?
Good to see she's recovering!

Darko, yes it was good to see her again. They're so erratic at this time of year you never quite know when they'll appear.

Lois, I think the deer are just running for cover having spotted an intruder on the horizon... me! I think I was disturbing their breakfast

Love that last shot of her leaping down

And maybe I ought to admit that roe deer can actually fly p:

Adele, I'd not realized just how high the deer could get. I'd love to be able to get side on (and a bit closer).
