Tales of a South Downs fox... and other ramblings

The Three Foxes

After a relatively quiet week, the foxes were back this evening... all three of the regulars, including the handsome young male who overcame his normal aversion for the camera. The rest is in pictures...

They look beautiful happy

Wojtek, yes I'm sure that's the result of a minor fight. They tend to bite across the face, so in time they can get quite heavily scarred. It doesn't seem to bother them though!

Erwin, we're really fortunate, especially when they turn up as a group like that and ignore us humans. I never tire of watching them interact.

Darko, they are doing very well this year. bigsmile

are all these foxes related?? i know you had all those cubs for a long time...are the young male and female brother and sister?? and Bold is the mum if i'm correct??

Words Wednesday, September 8, 2010 12:02:29 AM

Chris, yes they're related and you are absolutely correct in the relationships. So far as I can tell, Bold's father was the fox called 'Roofy', and he descends from 'the old dog fox' who featured in the early blog posts. But getting the generational connections can be tricky.

They are so beautiful Foxes yes I often wish i could just stay round yours for a night fox spotting.............. lol but i might make too much noise and scare them off.

Mark, that night was special... it's not often we get more than one of them showing up.
