Another Fox Update

...a small swarm of bees in the church wall...
And even Shutterbug's early evening visit.
But all of those are being put to one side in favour of three low quality shots of a fox cub. The vixen had appeared a couple of minutes earlier. She watched me for a while (well maybe 10 seconds) before retreating. Progress of sorts. At least she didn't dash away. A cub then appeared, and its curiosity overcame any immediate fear and it saw me, and came forward. I kept very still and was rewarded with three shots.
One last treat. This is a short sequence from last night's trail cam. With cubs about I've reset it to record video clips.

This is a direct link.
Camera note: first three shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. The final three taken with the EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens. Video by the Bushnell Trophy Cam.

Mama seems to be slowly getting used to you, and the cub is a real coup!
What a good thing you don't have dogs, now that I think of it!
I seem to recognise shards of good English flint in that church wall, below the concrete blocks.

The current church was built in 1817, but has been through some repairs since then. The barn the goose is on dates back to the 13th century (with lots of repair work on the way).
