Customer Service: A Lost Art

The concept of the customer is always right and catering to the customer has disappeared in our society today. It has gone by the wayside with many other things in which one used to take for granted. The people whom I have come into contact with act as though the only important thing is pass the time and collect a paycheck. Further, poor customer service, or the lack of, resonates through all levels of our workerforce today; it is not just the entry-level worker.
While reflecting on the this issue, I have come to realize that I am part of the problem. Why? I cater to these places because of my own greed of keeping my pockets lined with cash savings. From now on, my spending habits will go toward places that look at the customer as their sole purpose for staying in business. I know that my changing habits will not have an impact on the state of poor customer service today. But, it helps me feel better knowing that support businesses that do cater to the customer and keeps me from boiling over when dealing poor customer service.
