–noun
1. reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
2. confident expectation of something; hope.
There are as many as 10 definitions of the word "trust". The first two describe the feeling of trusting somebody. "Confident expectation of something; hope". This could mean that you trust a friend to pay you back the money you loaned him, or you trust that somebody will not hurt your feelings.
Many people say that they would trust their family or their best friend/s with their lives. This means that if their lives were in danger, they would go to that person for help. I only know of a few people i would hold such a trust in, although i believe i am one of the people in this world that can be trusted, a strange combo, i know.
Now, lets back it up to the first definition of trust. "Reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence". This could mean that you trust a contractor to build your house the way you want it done, or you trust a firefighter to get you out of a burning building if you cannot get out yourself. Although this can altogether means that you are trusting a person, with either a job or your life, or part of it.
Im sure everybody has taken the time to think about who they would trust with their life, and who they wouldn't. But has anybody ever thought "Who do i trust with my death?". If your friend was going to do something really horrible like go to school and shoot somebody or kill an innocent person or persons, and the only way to stop them would be to kill them, would you be trusted? Would you be able to pull the trigger on a friend before they blew up a train station or before they pulled the trigger on an innocent victim? Criminals are all around us, don't think you don't know any, so think about this.
Also, here is another scenario. If your friend was dying slowly, with no hope of living, only hope of having a quick and painless death, would you be able to set him/her free by finishing it? Could you be trusted to do what is wrong in order to do what is right?
This entry was not meant to justify killing or anything in that category, it was meant to make you think. It was meant to help people that read this evaluate their life and hopefully make them learn something new that they didn't know before.
Who do you trust?
