TUPI HOSTS 19TH GSP JAMBOREE

Tupi hosted the 19th GSP South Cotabato Jamboree at Tupi Central School last October 1 to 4,2009. The event was well-attended by girl scouts coming from various municipalities in South Cotabato. The participants were impressed by the hosting and considered the people of Tupi too hospitable. Growers of bananas, guava-apples and other fruits donated some of their produce to the delight of the participants. "Ginapasalamatan gid namon ang Barangay Poblacion sa liderato ni Punong Barangay Lito Yabut, Kanami gid sang Tupi... nag enjoy gid kami. Tani next year dire liwat ang jamboree", quipped one participant from Surallah.

The Department of Education launched the "BULIG MO, KALIPAY KO" program for the pupils of Upper Tupi Elementary School. As opening salvo, a medical and dental mission and feeding program for selected pupils were held with the assistance of volunteer women of Poblacion.
