All work and no play makes Alex a sick boy.

, , , ...

So I’m home sick again. This time it’s a virus in my throat. I’ve had high fever and a relentless pain in my throat all weekend. It’s horrible. My brother is the probable cause of infection. I was home all weekend and he felt ill on Saturday. It had passed on Sunday, but that’s when my issues started.

So other than my illness, what’s been keeping me busy? Well firstly, I’ve quit Gamepad. The reason for that is that I didn’t like where the project was headed. My initial thought was that it was to be small and agile, something which the others didn’t really seem to agree with. At least not with the small thing. So I and William (the other designer) quit, and started a project of our own.

That’s right – I’m not giving up on my original vision. The new project’s name is div9, and will be is featured on div9.se. It’s still in Swedish (sorry guys), and we’ve come really far. Further than we got with Gamepad in like two months. I’m in charge of the design, and William is in charge of the coding this time. The reason for this is that the code is to be written in PHP, which I know nothing about. We help each other out as much as possible though.

And he’s a great person to work with, William. Especially since we have the same ideas and thoughts about nearly everything. In other words; no more arguing about trivial stuff such as hierarchy.

Then there’s school. I wrote the Navigation test last week, which I didn’t pass (to my great shame, it wasn’t even hard) and the Principles of Flight test today, which I did pass. So now there’s only one test left before summer holiday. Wow, it hits me every time I think about it… less than two weeks left.

Well, now I’m off to draw some more on div9. The forum’s up next.

Take care.

Oh, and the song of the day is Mama Cass - One Way Ticket.

Summer's approaching. Faster.

, , , ...

So I’m back, after yet another busy week. Summer is approaching, and so is graduation for the third graders. I’m gonna miss them dearly. It must be great knowing that you’re free after 12 years in school, but at the same time it must be hard knowing that you have to leave this place. After all, they’ve spent the last two years living practically with each other. I know I’m going to miss all this during summer, and I’ve only been here one semester already.

Summer holiday.
Ah yes, the summer holiday starts in just 2 ½ weeks. I’ll probably stay here a few days into it though to fly and to repaint and move into my new apartment. Then I’m going home to Gävle.

I haven’t got a job yet, but I’m planning on changing that quite soon. It’s a great position at a company I think you probably all know about. I’ve sent an application, and now I’m crossing my fingers. I don’t want to go into more specifics than that until I know more.

Gamepad.
I’ve realized that I’m not going to be able to put aside as much time for Gamepad as I would want to. However, I’m still working on the design which is progressing quite well. I have a basic idea of how I want it and am currently working on the XHTML and CSS.

Medical examination.
Once every year we have to do a medical examination to extend our medical certificate by one year (you need a medical certificate to be allowed to fly). I did mine on Friday. It all went just fine, though the doctor was a bit weird. Like when he wanted to check my hearing. He asked me to sit down on a chair and cover my right ear with my hand while he like six feet behind me and whispered numbers which I were to repeat. “A whisper is equal to 25 dB at a frequency of 2 000 Hz” he explained to me. Umm… sure.

The navigation test.
My second last test for this semester is tomorrow, in Navigation. I’ve studied well, and I feel prepared. According to the ones who did it today, it wasn’t that hard. I hope they’re right…

My mind’s all messed up. I’m stressed up over nothing, really. Looks like I’ll need to go into therapy… I believe Mr. Jogging Track is waiting for me.

Take care.
