Once more we have football

, , ,

Today Queretaro's Gallos Blancos won the right to place in the premier league in Mexican Football League, the match was against Merida's Venados, Merida is located in the mexican state of Yucatan, in the southeast, near Cancun.

It is great! So I'm having Premier League Football at home once more!

I'm hoping the best, and the FEMEXFUT hopefully will be doing it's job right, not based in money and corruption only, thinking of the sports.

To see the last 6 minutes of the game:

Corregidora Stadium in Queretaro, the third largest and one of the most beautiful and best stadiums in the country will have Premier Football!

No more DRM please

I downloaded the Nokia Music software and with that access to the store, which is quite nice, the software crashes very often.

I bought several songs, and full albums, the price seems right, less than $0.99, but I play them and pass them to my mobile, in the phone, when playing for the first time, the phone connects to the internet (that is bad, because maybe I don't have a data plan) and download the license, in most of the songs it download the license correctly, but in three song it failed putting a message that I "Don't have permission" to hear the song, so I opened the store software in the phone and re-download the same songs (good thing you can re-download) but there where problems with the server, so the songs couldn't be download that moment, I tried later and it was fine.

Later I bought some songs from the phone, I was in a nightclub and wanted that song I was hearing, it downloaded fine and played fine, then I got the same problem while passing the song to the PC, not having permission, after a few try it worked.

Later I decided to burn CD with all the songs and then rip them to MP3 in order to be able to do whatever I want with my songs, but then the DRM server problem arise once more.

Finally I tryed to buy two songs, it started fine, but the download never completed, some strange error in the PC software, then tried doing it in the mobile, it worked, but it was then the pain of passing them to the PC...

Why the Record Labels insist in the DRM, c'mon is a pain to "play" them and the first thing I want to do everytime I buy a song from Nokia store is to burn it in CD in order to rip it as an MP3.

DRM exist and piracy remains and grows, so we can conclude that, that is not the answer.

Also, please NOKIA fix your servers, you have very frequent problems with them.

Youtube in 1950's Mexico

, , ,

The governor of the mexican state of Veracruz believes he is in the mid 20th century. when all governments (in mexico at least) censored all the media, and anybody who dared to challenged the censorship ended jobless and penniless (if lucky). Recently somebody uploaded a music video using a famous soundtrack cover "quiero que me quieras" in spanish from the song "I want you to want me" hte video is called "Yo te vi, yo te vi, robando" making reference to a part of the song (changed a little bit), using images of the governor.

It is amazing that this governor asked the IFE (Electoral Body in Mexico) to ask Youtube to delete this video, because it damaged his image, yeah! right blame the video!... he is a politician, show me a politician whit a clean image, nothing to hide, it is impossible, some are cleaner than others, but that is all, also they are public figures, and so as there are people who are going to support him there are people who don't like him, that is politics and democracy, so get use to it, it has arrive, and WE (the people) want it to keep it.

You can search on Youtube and find a ton of videos that attack and support different politicians, and from diferent countries, the Obama girl, all the Sendero del Peje youtube videos, just write the name of the politician or political party.

Instead of trying to censor Youtube, clean your image, if that is not possible, let it pass and resign from political life.

Since all this happened the video became even more popular and appeared in many more sites over the internet, and there is a response to his failure "censorship"

This is the famous video

This is the answer after trying to censor the other video

Mexico to blame? NO!

Media are interested in money, politicians in votes (because that way they get power which gives them money)

The flu is a frightening situation due to the media and politicians, and thanks to them our economy is going far worse than ever as our reputation and the attitude of many countries against us.

I think we should learn from China and Argentina (government not people), instead of publishing the first case we found of the virus (in Mexico) and reporting of this new disease, and warn the world for this new disease, we even sent samples to the CDC and Canada labs to confirm the problem, when this happened, Mexico city was closed, for precautions, two days later we closed the country (all public places where closed) to avoid getting sick. We warn the WHO, and the Panamerican Health Organization.

This affected our economy in many ways, the government is giving the medicine free to everybody who needs it, and are giving free all the masks to protect, and other stuff, if you got sick, your family gets a treatment too. We started to check temperature in airports and bus stations, I got mine checked (I traveled between Mexican cities) and doctors check me at work, and I receive vitamins, antiseptic gel for free, I didn't work days in order to avoid getting sick (government orders) so the country's economy froze those days.

But after all precautions we take and everything was right and on time, we avoid 8,000 dead people in the first week, and over 20,000 infected people, still ignorant politicians from Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China closed borders and ignorant politicians in France tried to do that. We call that a xenophobic act, still they claim is all for the health. Right now the USA has more sick people than us, over there people are more confident that they don't get sick, since they are not Mexicans(the first targeted disease?) so they don't take precautions, and Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China haven't close their borders to them, I think that is a little xenophobic against Mexicans.

Now lets check some of the countries...

Argentina, they have an epidemic in their country "DENGUE" that was found in april 2009 (yes the same month of the flu) but they denied the disease, because that is a poor country disease, so the image of the country would be affected, and the tourism too, right now they have over 23,000 people sick of Dengue you can read a good article about that in the BBC Argentina arrogant about dengue

China with SARS was the same, they denied, they are a new world power, so they can not get sick of anything, and denied everything, allowing the disease to grow.

We could wait until some other country like "fakecountry" announce the disease, and then we could call that the "fakecountry flu" close our borders to them and claim is all for health, so that our products (exports) and tourism doesn't get affected.

After all of this, I have to say that I'm OK with people from Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China, they didn't decided to close border, to panic and to ignore the sick people.

Now some small facts:

- Did you know that the deadly Spanish Flu wasn't spanish? It was from the USA and they hide the disease because they were at war (WWI) and that could harm their image
- Did you know the new flu that was "found" in Mexico actually started in San Diego California. But Mexico was the one that warn the WHO and other countries.
"Swine Flu may be from California"
"New Flu Originated in San Diego"

The dead of the newspaper as a printed form is imminent.

The LA Times, Chicago Tribune are bankrupt, The New York Times is in financial stress (but Carlos save the day) and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that went on line only.

This is a reality, there are free newspapers in every city of the planet (I think every city) why pay for a news paper, something that is not eco friendly, that has yesterday's news (not updated) and you get a lot of pages of articles you don't care (I don't like the social sections and the stars gossip)

I haven't bought a newspaper since 1997, because in my high school and college we get the "El Financiero" (financial paper) free to all students, and the library had a lot of other papers, also the internet was present already. Also I get a free newspaper at home every week (I don't like it, but is good for cleaning) and I can get news papers for free in restaurants, bus stations, malls and other public places.

Many Newspapers are having a big financial problem (ain't we all) so they are considering the move to be on line only, clever!, but they are afraid if they are going to make any money... How to make money with an online news paper only?

THE SAME WAY AS ALWAYS!!

- How free newspapers made money, advertising
- How other papers made money, advertising + subscription
- Or they can be subscription with no ads, and still made money.

Why, if they go on line only, they can sell all the printing machinery, the tons and tons of paper they have in their warehouse (they kept a lot of paper stored), they don't need as many employees (ok a semi bad thing, because that people may loose their jobs, but the cost of the paper reduces) and they can produce news in shorter times, because you can have it worldwide available in one click, not need of print and deliver.

In the case of my city, we have several printed news papers:

- Diario de Querétaro (the oldest)
- Noticias
- AM
- El Corregidor
- Voces de la Sierra
- Magazine de Querétaro
- Tribuna
- El Observador

Of this I kown the online versions of Diario de Queretaro, El Corregidor, and El Observador the others don't have an online version, which is not as bad as it sounds, since Mexico's penetration of internet is a little bit above the 21%.

But there are two news sites for the city and state, iqroo.com.mx and Rotativo of which Rotativo I like more. They are only online, and in business.

Consider to go online only, and you can make a lot of profit too, stop thinking in "by click" advertisement that is so 90's consider the fact and reality that a mere image of your brand in the page of the news stays in the consumer, no need to click to stay in the mind, of course the click means something more, but they will remember seeing you somewhere when they need you even though they didn't click.

If this news sites are living, in a country with 21% of internet penetration, how much can you do in a country with 50% or more! and remember that on the internet you are global in seconds, with no taxes or transportation fees.

Always consider a mobile version for the phones and internet tablets out there, and the e-Ink version too (Kindle or Sony Reader among others). Is only work on CSS, and taking the content from the same data base.
