Mexico to blame? NO!

, ,

Media are interested in money, politicians in votes (because that way they get power which gives them money)

The flu is a frightening situation due to the media and politicians, and thanks to them our economy is going far worse than ever as our reputation and the attitude of many countries against us.

I think we should learn from China and Argentina (government not people), instead of publishing the first case we found of the virus (in Mexico) and reporting of this new disease, and warn the world for this new disease, we even sent samples to the CDC and Canada labs to confirm the problem, when this happened, Mexico city was closed, for precautions, two days later we closed the country (all public places where closed) to avoid getting sick. We warn the WHO, and the Panamerican Health Organization.

This affected our economy in many ways, the government is giving the medicine free to everybody who needs it, and are giving free all the masks to protect, and other stuff, if you got sick, your family gets a treatment too. We started to check temperature in airports and bus stations, I got mine checked (I traveled between Mexican cities) and doctors check me at work, and I receive vitamins, antiseptic gel for free, I didn't work days in order to avoid getting sick (government orders) so the country's economy froze those days.

But after all precautions we take and everything was right and on time, we avoid 8,000 dead people in the first week, and over 20,000 infected people, still ignorant politicians from Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China closed borders and ignorant politicians in France tried to do that. We call that a xenophobic act, still they claim is all for the health. Right now the USA has more sick people than us, over there people are more confident that they don't get sick, since they are not Mexicans(the first targeted disease?) so they don't take precautions, and Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China haven't close their borders to them, I think that is a little xenophobic against Mexicans.

Now lets check some of the countries...

Argentina, they have an epidemic in their country "DENGUE" that was found in april 2009 (yes the same month of the flu) but they denied the disease, because that is a poor country disease, so the image of the country would be affected, and the tourism too, right now they have over 23,000 people sick of Dengue you can read a good article about that in the BBC Argentina arrogant about dengue

China with SARS was the same, they denied, they are a new world power, so they can not get sick of anything, and denied everything, allowing the disease to grow.

We could wait until some other country like "fakecountry" announce the disease, and then we could call that the "fakecountry flu" close our borders to them and claim is all for health, so that our products (exports) and tourism doesn't get affected.

After all of this, I have to say that I'm OK with people from Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and China, they didn't decided to close border, to panic and to ignore the sick people.

Now some small facts:

- Did you know that the deadly Spanish Flu wasn't spanish? It was from the USA and they hide the disease because they were at war (WWI) and that could harm their image
- Did you know the new flu that was "found" in Mexico actually started in San Diego California. But Mexico was the one that warn the WHO and other countries.

Swine Flu: Mexican point of view

, , ,

I'm fine and healthy... so far.

I want to clarify a ver good question made by the AP people in Mexico.

Why people die for swine flu in Mexico and not in other countries?

There are two main reasons.

1. In Mexico the minimum wage is $4usd per day, so going to the doctor (private practice) is quite expensive, and social health is quite a pain in the *... so people who can afford a medicine go to the drugstore an buy something and self medicate, or in the worst case, try to cure himself with teas and infusions (chicken soup), when that doesn't work, they go to the doctor, and it is too late.

2. The public hospitals are crowded, if you are lucky you will receive attention after three hours of wait, and the attention is taken in a few minutes, where the overworked doctor ask the patient "what do you have?" and the silly patient answers "my throat hurts" so the doctors check it quickly to see it is red and give them a medicine, or tell the patient which medicine to take, which is wrong most of the time. So a lot of patients are misdiagnose, receiving medicine they don't need, and not getting well, they visit the doctor several times until he (by a stroke of luck) gives the correct diagnose, sometimes the patient died before that.

In private practice, the problem is almost the same, the doctor asks, then checks a little bit and give a medicine, that can be right or wrong, then charges you with a bill of $40.00 usd (10 days of work) or sometimes asks the patient to take a few test to find out what is the problem, gives the patient a medicine to stop the symptoms, the patient feels better because the medicine stops the symptoms and since medical studies are way to expensive he decides not to continue, after all he feels fine now.

Also I was witness of the next case, in a private hospital the nurses give the patient the wrong medicine, which cause the patient to suffer even more, and he was submitted to two surgeries and not a sign to improve, until the doctor find out the nurses were giving the wrong medicine. That hospital is the "Hospital de la Santa Cruz" in Queretaro.

In case of flu cases in my city and state, so far none, zero cases, there where 30 people who presented symptoms, but it was a common flu. Still I'm wearing a mask, cleaning my hands a lot, and not greeting people.
