Batman the INCREDIBLE movie

I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton, one of the reasons is the very first Batman movie. But the last two are so good and the last one is so Incredible that made me a fan of Christopher Nolan.

Also the performances of Bale and Ledger are amazing. A most credible Joker was imposible, so crazy, his reasons are better than those of Nicholson Joker.

The introduction of the second villian "Two Face" so much better than the one of Lee also more intelligent. those last two movies of batman where a waste of money, time, and resources.

I just hope Warner Bros don't mess it us this time.

Ratatouille for all

I work in the marketing department of a chemical company in Mexico, the company is from Switzerland, and on june I bought like 3000 movie tickets for some clients that get them as part of a promotion. I bought extra tickets in order to have some in case I needed, thank God it was well planned so I didn't need the extra tickets, so I decided to give to Human Resources department in order to be a gift for the childrens of a house that takes care of them, they still have parents, but for some reason they are living there.

I decided to give them and after giving the I asked persmission to my boss, why?, well the boss thinks more on the money side than the human side, he is not a bad person, but he is not very charitable either, so I thought to myself "better to ask fogiveness than to ask permission", after all he agreed with me and though it was a good idea, in order to please him too I invited the local newspapers, publicity!, so I have the tickets for the kids and the publicity for the company, every body wins.

The VP of Human Resources is a good fellow with a good heart, he used part of his budget to get sodas and popcorn to the kids, so every kid in the house get a ticket and all the official complement of a movie. The chosen movie "Ratatouille" of Disney, why, well this are kids from 3 years to 17, it was the universal choice.

It was a great event and I like that I could do something good for the kids, and the company is well positioned in the community, see good thing help everybody. If you can help anyone by taking a simple decision, do it! Karma law says it will help you too.

Harry Potter Mania

The fifth movie is here, I think world wide, I went to the premier on wednesday 11th, well actually since it was the first minute after midnight then it was on thursday 12th, it is a great movie, imagine the excitement, I see it once more today, the qeue line of the movie on the premier started to form as soon as 5:00pm even though the movie was showed at midnight, 7 hours later, two of my friends went to the theater at 10:00pm to be in line "on time" but they where the last ones on the line, at midnight 48 movie theaters in my city started to show the movie, all of them full with long lines formed very early, I get my tickets one week before. In order to have a better view of the movie I sat on the stairs.

Today again I see that the theater manager have to create new forms to get the entrance to the theaters, since too many people arrived to see Harry Potter, they closed almost every place on the lobby, put some lines and created a new line system and an announcing system to keep order on the lines.

I see why, the movie is GREAT, really GREAT, I can't wait for the next movie and for the last book.

I read the first book when I was 17 in 1999, I bought it in Sanborns because I was amaze by the marketing campaing of the book (no movie info at the time) so I decided to see why such big buzz around a childrens book, I couldn't stop reading the book, I went to classes and read the book at breaks, I finish the book in one day, I immediatly went to buy the second book, same thing happend, I finished the book on the same day, then it was book three and forth, this one was a gift from my parents who saw me reading like crazy, so they gave me the last book (forth at the time) on a saturday, I started reading it at 9:00am and finished at 6:00am on sunday, I couldn't stop, every time I tryed I couldn't I just needed to see what was happening.

Fifht and sixth book I took them calmly and read them in two days not one, still it was difficult for me to stop reading.

I know this are childrens books, and I'm no longer a children, but I love the history in them, I have an inner child waiting for the seventh and last book! I can't wait any more!

Go a see the movie the fights are great.

Xtreme Entertainment Day

, , , ...

Yesterday was a day worth to write, like in many TV episodes, I planned a lot of activities.

Here is how my day evolved.

- In the morning, went to work
- After work I went to play volleyball (Sports)
- After that I went to watch the football match of Mexico vs Argentina (Sports Fan and watcher)
- After that I went to Timbiriche's Concert (Music and Live show)
- After that I went to the premier of "Harry Potter and the order of phoenix" (Movie Premiere with crazy fans in disguise)

A very integral day with work and resposabilities and 4 recreational activities, in a single day.

This is something you can not do if you live in Mexico city, why?, well to move from point A ot point B in that city it will take you at least 45 minutes, while in Queretaro it took me 15 minutes.

The longest ad in history

, , ,

Which one is the longest ad in history.

I bet is the movie "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks, I saw that movie yesterday, and again I think, that most be the longest and more expensive ad ever. A FedEx guy travel in a FedEx plane to get to the FedEx headquarters, but that FedEx plane gets caught in a, I can assume, FedEx storm, and crashes in a FedEx way, in a nowhere island, he probably named that island "FedExland" (coming soon a theme park there) where he lives alone until he met the "Wilson" ballfriend (everykid must have one of those) that was delivered by mistake by FedEx, he survive the island thanks to all the deliveries of FedEx, and left the island using a plan that was inspired by a draw in a FedEx box, then he departs with his friend "wilson" the ball. Get's rescue by a boat (probably owned by FedEx or a subsidary)... After 5 years being lost, he takes a package and deliver it, so the FedEx guys have a new motto, "No rain, no thunder, no storm, no crashed planes, no insolated islands, no hunger, no 5 years of lonlyness will stop us to deliver your package and Wilson is a great friendly ball every kid should have deliverd by FedEx"

Here the movie, entire movive reduced to 60 seconds. (the cheap version) or the ad reduce, depends on the point of view.

And the Oscar...

, , ,

Ok, I'm a movie fan as many other people in the world, althoug I also belive the oscars are not the best (probably the worst) prize in cinematography, since it is obvious that the so-called "Academy" have clear favorites all the time, with great movies being ignored by them and big directors and actors not getting a single award despite the MANY MANY nominations.

Still I gave the oscar the commercial importance, to have in the DVD box that a movie won the oscar ot at least was nominated gives to the consumer the confidence of a good movie (yeah right!)

So yesterday was Oscar day and a big day for mexican cinema since many Oscar nominations where to mexicans (people and movie), also important for spanish cinema since many of those movies where co-produced with spanish companies.

Pan's Labyrinth my personal favorite didn't won the oscar for best foreign language movie, but get the Oscar for best Cinematography, Best Make Up and Best Art Direction.

Babel (by mexican Alejandro González with several mexican actors and crew involved) get the Oscar for Best Score.

So, get out of the "enlgish only" movies and see some movies in other languages, many are really great, and you will find out that many Hollywood movies (Super Hits) are actually remakes of foreign movies.

Back in 1998

, , ,

I was watching a movie in the theater "Meet Joe Black" with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, I read it was a romantic Sci-Fi movie, so I wasn't prepared for something else, but there was a scene in the movie in which the entire theater laugh so loud, it was really funny, even when I saw it on DVD I laugh again. Which scene?... It's going to sound cruel, may be not, the scene in which Brad Pitt dies, it was so funny, because the movie makers did a really strange accidente, so improbable, so ridiculous. The rest of the movie is great.

I rememeber this, because I watch this movie again today on TV, and again made me laugh
