Light Up Mexico: The march for security
Monday, 1. September 2008, 02:33:19

Yesterday was the national march for security, all we want is security, so far Queretaro is by far the safest place in Mexico, but security is a problem of Mexicans as a nation, and we are part of it. Last year there one kidnaping in the city and the kidnappers were captured, so far this year nothing bad in the city, and it is a million people city, so we have good stats, but not so good for other states like Michoacan, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Baja California, Nuevo León and Mexico City (among others)
A few days ago in Merida, Yucatan (near Cancun) the police found 11 heads!, that is not tolerable.
So we all march (well the most dangerous cities called for their citizens no to do so, because it was dangerous) acording to new in Queretaro 10,000 people marched, the march was orginized using Facebook, Hi5 and later the local media help (internet empower the masses).
People was to use only white clothing and use a candle that represents hope, and march in complete silence, at the end the national anthem was sang.
I also want to notice that, drugs is not only OUR problem (mexicans) did you notice that the most dangerous cities are the ones in the border with the USA, you know why... consumption, there is drug consumption in Mexico, but not even close to the one in the USA, and those consumers create the promble in the begining. Did you know that the USA is the main provider of guns to the drug dealers in Mexico and Latin America?, also Did you know that in the begining the financed everythig?, so why suddenly it is only a problem in our country, try to stop the consumers, do somthing on your side, not only on ours.
The march in Mexico city, was by far, largest of them all.
According to newspapers there were marchs also in other countries, Spain, Costa Rica, UK and USA, mexicans living there and probably some locals.
By the way, I find weird that some people are complaining against the march, as an attack on Mexico City's Mayor, when the march is a federal movement, against all goverments, a little paranoia?!.
