From Santiago de Queretaro to the world

The best College Tradition!!

, , , , ,

I think the best college tradition ever is the so-called "Road trip" a trip with your friends with little or no money, to any kind of places... As a good college guy I practice it as much as possible ($$) when we are a student we call ourselves studenhunger (estudihambre) since you suffer hunger because you spent great percentage of your money in two things, school books and material (copies, coffee, library fees and stuff) and in parties (beer and chips), that is why we suffer hunger.

As a student I had road trips to several places:

-Ixtapa (beach)
-Playa Azul a beach (well we thought it was playa azul, but we are not certain, since we arrive by accident, we where lost)
-Los Azufres (forest, cabins, scary stories, crazy using mask killer... well not all of that)
-Morelia (colonial town)
-Patzcuaro (famous for it's day of the dead party... and very cold)
-Bernal (small town with the third biggest rock on earth)
-Tequisquiapan (small town with lots of water parks)
-Colon (small town with nothing to do... so bored)
-Amealco (small town with forest and extremly cold)

In all but two of those trips I was the official driver, since I am the one with a car of it's own and the one with the more experience in driving, and never crashing a car... well not a big crash.

For the first time we are no longer students, and we no longer suffer for the lack of money... not so much suffering... so we are going to do the first roadtrip by plane, so it will be called the first plane trip for the friends... I'm doing it with my friends from High school who went to the same college as me, and some college friends to the colonial-beach-port town of Veracruz located in jungle, so we are making a trip with all the characteristics of the previous trips, forest (jungle actually), beach and colonial.

Tomorrow is D day... super anxious to travel... it will be only a weekend, just like in college.

Jorge,
I have just read all of your posts. You sound like a wonderful person. I really enjoy hearing about your beautiful city. I will be visiting Queretaro in September. Enjoy your trip and keep up the good work.
