From Santiago de Queretaro to the world

Mexican Birthday

, ,

When in college I meet some international students and create good friends, but all of them were amazed about mexican birthdays, so I'm going to tell you how we celebrate them.

The parties can be surprise, but it is not cutom to do it that way.

We have many of the same stuff like any other place on earth, balloons, soda, candy, food and cake. The different stuff are the Piñata, you probably know it from cartoons and tv, and in some places in the world is an imported tradition.

The really different stuff is that the birthday boy suffers... yes, it is a tradition to throw him or her to a pool foutain or in case of not having one, to throw some balloons filled with water.

We sang the birthday song "Las Mañanitas" and after blowing the candle we ask for a bite, in which the birthday boy have to bite the cake directly or in case the cake looks really tasty, we cut a slice and make him bite it, but he will be "splated" with the cake, we put cake all over his face, and nose, a good birthday bite have to end with half of the cake in the birthday boy face. (Here is when all international students were amazed)
