5 de Mayo in the city of Santiago de Queretaro is one of the main streets in the historic district in downtown, this street has many restaurants and other venues and leads to the government plaza, where the state government is located.
From the "Santa Cruz" church to the "Jardín Zenea" this is what you will see.
This is "5deMayo Experimental" is a restaurant that create different dishes based in Mexican tradition and local flavors.
This is simply an old house in leasing, I liked the colors.
This is a small luxury hotel with very few rooms.
A small bookstore, where you can find a lot of old books, they buy and sell old books as a specialty. There are also new books.
This a traditional Queretaro Food Restaurant, they specialized in local cuisine.
A leather shop, they make shoes, belts, and purses, also they fix them, is one of the oldest businesses I can recall.
This is a mexican cantina, a real cantina, and since the street is now the place to be, it has a lot of customers.
Bakery store
The "Urraca Hotel & Spa" an expensive but great hotel, it also is a spa. An urraca is a kind of crow but small.
Suites Sofia, another hotel.
Wicklow Bar, one of my favorites bars, is an "Irish Pub" something I can probe since I have never being in an Irish Pub.
The "Teatro de la Casona del Árbol" a theater and the "Back Stage Bar" that is part of the theater.
Another Queretaro traditional food restaurant, this one is new.
A glass store, they sell all kind of articles made of glass, the patio is quite nice.
Another theater, "Teatro la Tercera Llamada"
A small Art Gallery and a gift shop.
A Churro Café, where you can buy churros.
A furniture and decoration store.
Alda Café, which is a great place for salads, their salads are incredible.
Furniture store, with traditonal mexican style furniture, and other stuff.
A night club called "Maya" the place is ok. The only place in town, as far as I know, that has Absynth.
Antother Hotel and restaurant.
Another theater, this one "Teatrito La Carcajada" is for comedies only, and they also have stand up comedians from time to time.
Thai Bar, a Thai food restaurant and bar, it works more as a bar.
This is a Turk bar, with turkish pipes and other stuff.
Waffle In, is a waffle café, the waffles are ok, and the place looks good.
PlayMobil a beer bar, this are very common, they don't have beers from all over the world, insted they have cocktails made with beer.
Alkimia Bar, this place is great, they have the best cocktails in town, and the people is very nice, they don't sell food, but if you want, they bring you food from any restaurant on the street.
Government Plaza, here there are several restaurants (expensive... well to the mexican standart) and cafés.
After Government plaza the street is pedestrian only.
La Antojeria, another Queretano restaurant.
This is "La Casona de los cinco patios" an old mansion, it has chandeliers made of the horns of deers, their patios and rooms are now restaurants and a night club.
A bar and night club. This one change name every month or so, don't know why.
This is, on the first floor an ice cream store and candy store, on the second floor is a restaurant and on the third floor a tattoo shop.
After this part, there are a lot of restaurants and stores of all kind, all old, from the 60's and on, so they look exactly like they used to look when established.
This is an old department store, the first in the region to have electric stairs, this were a tourist attraction, just like the very first located in the Macy's store on 34th street in NY, of course that this stairs were installed long after.
Next to the department store there are two bookstores, a very old church and three public plazas where street shows take place. Right in front is Jardin Zenea, the largest public plaza in the historic district.
