Transparent background when viewing pictures with Z1-Glass

, , , ,

Would you like the background transparent when viewing pictures with Opera 10.5 and Z1-Glass?

Thats possible:

1. Save this image.css file (Right click: Save Linked Content as..) somewhere you can find it.
2. open opera:config and point the setting to the image.css file. Don't forget to click save.

(Updated for use with Z1-Evenes)

Voilá!

Btw: Lilmoder does wild things with transparent webpages in his Aero Channel.

It does not receive ... Still see white stripes of Windows 7.
After pointing image.css>> Save>> restart Opera, but ... stripes are there. sad

The stripes are not supposed to disappear with that. This makes just the background transparent when viewing pictures. The lines are in the screenshot too.

To get rid of the white lines remove everything under [browser skin] in the skin.ini.

Edit: I see, you mean the stripes in the window background. They are from the Windows default visual style. To get rid of those you need a custom visual style. I'm using soft7.

Many thanks!!!
I use a soft7 and white lines are gone.
Consideration of the pictures is also a background transparent. smile

I think that allocation of minor elements and blinking within the limits of a transparent window irritate perception (011.gif). I believe, that in idea of the new interface the principle not persistence and elegance should be incorporated, therefore all buttons and other elements should be transparent or translucent.Thanks.

To make the picture stand out a bit more on the transparent background, you could add a box-shadow to the image.css:

img{

box-shadow: 8px 8px 12px rgba(0,0,0,.4);
}

This does only work when using the Z1-Glass Skin and one of the latest Opera 10.5 snapshots from the Desktop Team Blog. Also transparency works only on Windows Vista or 7 with Aero enabled. Make sure you have those, then it will work.

I meant the Opera 10.5 build. Type Opera:about in the addressfield to see the buildnumber. You should get build 3228 from the Desktop Team Blog.

I don't use icq, sry.

Can i do that on myopera blog??

polityk Sunday, February 7, 2010 9:10:17 PM

I have to remove that from time to time. Sometimes it makes web pages like in Aerochan. Last time it moves pictures in page, they aren't on their place. I delete it from css file, put it back and it works again. It happens in current build (3228) and previous one (3222). I didn't use it on earlier releases. It happens only to me? It shouldn't be conflict with another line in css file? confused
Windows 7 x86

When installed as said above, it should never get into any webpages and only get used when pictures are loaded. The address ends in .png or .jpg then.

But if I make a new tab via a mousegesture from, say, the google homepage, the new tab is not transparent. Just thought you'd like to know.

One bug that I report (DSK-279693@bugs.opera.com), but did not know that only happens with Z1-Glass. Can anyone confirm?
Menu button>> Select "Menu">> Opera crash
sad

StelianLZ2SDC Monday, February 8, 2010 9:01:02 PM

Button "Wand", not the medium, he stands firmly above.
I think this button does not comply with this beautiful skin. It stands as a glued on the bottom button (looks like a postage stamp). It would be nice to have an independent, transparent button.

Known issue with transparent skins in the latest few builds.

Z1-AV69 Monday, February 8, 2010 9:41:13 PM

My Opera doesn't crash on show menu, but the menu doesn't work and shows some corrupted stuff.

I want to keep the wand button blue because I like it as an indicator. But I should make the blue fit the button.

Kameeeleon Tuesday, February 9, 2010 2:10:13 AM

If this was the default skin, 10.5 would fly off the virtual shelves. Utterly brilliant. You should do an ultra-minimalist version, I'm sure there are more vertical pixels could be freed up for use on my netbook.

Thank Rijk! I do not use the menu bar, but I'd like Opera is the most stable browser .. and of course the most, the fastest! smile

I understand ... blue as an indicator of a good ... skin, they first developed simultaneously with Opera 10.5 .. Time will tell! smile

thers this glitch idnk if ur aware of it or not but thats what happens with transparency when i turn on game like WarCraft3 then even if i quit it will still be like this untill i close the browser. This was the problem with original O skin also for a while but now they fixed it.

Z1-AV69 Tuesday, February 9, 2010 5:40:55 PM

I know this, it also happens when you enable Aero while Opera is running. But I can't do anything about it. I'm only hoping for a build that fixes all those issues. Especially the see-through elements and text in plugins would be important.

how to use Z1-Glass

Z1-AV69 Thursday, February 11, 2010 2:43:36 PM

1. It will only work with Windows Vista or 7 and Aero enabled
2. Install Opera 10.5 beta or later: http://www.opera.com/browser/next/ (Backup Opera before experimenting.)
3. Get the skin from here: http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/info/?id=9281
