3 different addressfield options in Z1-Glass 1.52+

Everyone has it's own preferences and taste, that's good! But this makes it impossible to design something ideal for everyone. In the end my Z1-Glass skin will always be made to fit my needs and my taste. So if you want something special different from my taste, I can only encourage you to start customizing it.
With Z1-Glass v1.50 came a new addressfield and now I can offer 3 options to customize the addressfield to your taste. You will have to do some zipping and ini-file editing, but it will be super easy and might be a good start for you if you never have done something with the inis.
With Z1-Glass v1.50 came a new addressfield and now I can offer 3 options to customize the addressfield to your taste. You will have to do some zipping and ini-file editing, but it will be super easy and might be a good start for you if you never have done something with the inis.
To choose one of the options, you need to edit the skin.ini file contained in the skin file (z1-glass-v_x_xx.zip). For the combined option, you will also have to edit your toolbar.ini.
How To:
1. Find your skin file (z1-glass-v_x_xx.zip) and copy it somewhere. The skin file is in a /skin folder inside your <Opera directory>.
2. Open it and copy "skin.ini" out, open skin.ini with an editor like notepad
3. Starting with line 20, you will find comments that tell you what to do.
4. Beginning with line 35 is the "[Dropdown Addressfield Skin]" section. It has 3 different lines defining a background image, only one of them has no "#" in the first place. Only the line containing no "#" will get used, every line with a "#" in front will be ignored.
Tile Center = border/addressfield.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_alternate.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_classic.png5. Remove the "#" in the line of the image you want to use and make sure there is a "#" in front both other lines.
6. Save the skin.ini and copy it back into z1-glass-v_x_xx.zip
7. Close Opera and copy z1-glass-v_x_xx.zip back to your custom skins folder
Now for the 3 options:
1. Default optionThe new default addressfield has a button-like background for the page-icon and the dropdown like the searchbox has. I think this integrates better into the addressbar and looks more "state of the art".
Tile Center = border/addressfield.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_alternate.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_classic.png
2. Combined with go-button option (alternate)The combined or alternate option has a go button directly attached to the addressfield. You can of course place any button you like instead of the go button by editing the toolbar.ini. With the skin editing, you only switch to the needed image.
This setup may lack some functionality: The startbar isn't working for example and it will look bad with icons or text scaled too much. Combining the addressfield was probably never intended by the Devs.
#Tile Center = border/addressfield.png Tile Center= border/addressfield_alternate.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_classic.png
To combine addressfield and go button, you have to edit your toolbar.ini or use this combined_addressfield_toolbar.ini. Rightclick and "save linked content as" to a folder /toolbar in your <Opera directory>. Now choose "Combined Addressfield" unter settings/advanced/toolbars.
You can of course customize this toolbar.ini to your liking, such as copying over your custom buttons or moving buttons. But be careful: the combined addressfield can only be moved by grabbing the go-button.
If you want to edit your toolbar.ini, just copy the contents of the combined_addressfield_toolbar.ini to your toolbar.ini and make sure to leave no duplicates, you may have to delete your [Document Toolbar.content], [Combined Back Forward.style] and [Combined Back Forward.content].
Btw: I agree a go button is mostly pointless. The one used here will open new page, paste & go if you hold it down. This can save some clicks.
3. Classic option:The classic option is a simple rounded editfield as it was up until v1.33. Just edit the skin.ini to get it back.
#Tile Center = border/addressfield.png #Tile Center= border/addressfield_alternate.png Tile Center= border/addressfield_classic.png

I really loved the thing you did with the transparent background when viewing images customization,,made my 4chan browsing really better
I hope you remember the question I once asked
If not
Is a transparent loading page possible?
Well since we can't edit with the background page cause as you have said it would mess up with some sites
how about delaying the tab creation time?
What do I mean?
Well try closing a tab and restore it with ctrl z
For a brief moment things become transparent
provided we can somehow "delay" this transparency for like say,, a second or two..after that probably the page has loaded up already
hope you could give my idea some thought

With render instantly, all those things are missing. I would like to get a "wait max 0.3 seconds" setting...

This issue seems to be related to the other plugin issue with the transparent text. This needs a fix from Opera, it happens generally when full transparency is set. Only way to fix it in the skin would be to remove transparency.A possible workaround is to configure the flash plugin with another skin so that it doesn't have to ask anything anymore.

I only replaced "Address3" with "ButtonSet, Combined Addressfield" and added:
Addressbar looks good, but startbar stopped working.

Btw: I found a bug with your version of the bookmark selector icon, you might want to look into it.
