New close buttons for Z1-Glass

In version 2.40 Z1-Glass got new close buttons and new indicators for active and attention states:
Download Z1-Glass @ MyOpera skins

I choose a rather simple design that may not be everyones taste. But lilmoder was kind enough to make his own close buttons with a different design:
If you prefer those (or just want to test them): The necessary mod of Z1-Glass is super easy to make.


How to install lilmoders close buttons:

(works with Z1-Glass v2.41 and later)

1. Download lilmoder_buttons_for_Z1-Glass.zip
2. Inside is a folder "pagebar", extract it.
3. Close Opera and find the Z1-Glass skin file, under Win7 default its in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\skin\"
4. Open the z1-glass.zip file.
5. Drag&Drop the extracted "pagebar" folder into the skin file and let it replace the files.
6. Start Opera, you're done.

Tzurp made another close buttons set you might like:
It can be installed just like described above. Download: tzurp_buttons_for_Z1-Glass.zip

Since people keep asking for it, here is a close button set without indicators for active and attention tabs. Install it just like above. Download: nosigns_closebuttons_for_Z1-Glass.zip

Just dloaded the standard Glass v2.47 skin and I have to say I absolutely love it! However, text in Flash seems a bit off when the Opera window isn't maximized. Here's an example: (1) window maximized http://i41.tinypic.com/16jg1z8.jpg and (2) window in free size http://i42.tinypic.com/fu2vra.jpg . Still, note also the font color when the window is maximized, it got a blueish hue to it, although very readable. The issue is not isolated to Youtube. When I try Ten v2.66 everything is looking just right and the font is crisp and in the correct hue.

I don't think this is the place to post bugs (if it is one), but i'll subscribe to the post and hope you'll reply anyway smile However, thanks for an excellent skin!

Hello, the text in flash thing is a kown issue. It happens with any plugins and any version of the skin. The text is transparent and you see your wallpaper through. The issue comes from Operas implementation of the full transparency, it can*t be fixed in the skin (other than disabling the transparency). We are all waiting for a fix from Opera.

So I cleaned them and made the active button red and attention buttons light like original active button. Interesting idea, it looks indeed good. Generally I try to avoid too much color, because colors might not look good with some wallpapers. In case of your version I would also have to see if the color is too "heavy", drawing too much attention. I don't want an attention state that is so intrusive that one feels the need to click the tab to have the color go away. This depends on personal preference though.

Currently I'm not doing anything on my skins simply because I need a break. For some months I have invested almost all of my spare time into skinning and this can't be healthy. But thank you for the idea, I might consider it when I start doing something again.
