Triplets

A Funen woman gave birth to triplets on Friday, writing herself into the history books in the process. Triplets by themselves are rare, with roughly 30 sets being born in Denmark every year. What makes this case more unusual is that the mother is a triplet herself.

The 28-year-old from Odense and her husband welcomed three little girls - Anja, Bella and Cille - to their family, bringing their brood of children to five.

The chance of two sets of triplets being born into the same family is 1 in 20 billion. Amazing, huh?

The couple found out in the third month of pregnancy that they were expecting triplets.

The proud mother have stated that it was completely unrealistic to find out. There was a lot of mixed emotions, because of course they were delighted, but they also knew what was awaiting them.

The busy parents have been busy feeding the newborns every three hours and of course changing diapers.

Having three kids is amazing but getting them all at once :eyes: I hope government will help them, this is really rare

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 06:39

@ Carol ~ :D

@ Darko ~ It's not usual to get "help" for your kids, unless there are something wrong with them here. But I've heard that the more kids you have, the higher risk for divorce. awww

Whoa! :faint:

There was a couple in Malmö who had two sets of twins born in the same year a while ago. :ko:

Cois 13. January 2009, 08:36

I don't want one :D

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 08:57

Furie 13. January 2009, 09:06

1 in 20 billion? Bet they wish they could beat those odds in Vegas. Probably need to in order to pay for three kids. :left:

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 09:06

Not three, but five. They had two kids to begin with! :D

rose-marie 13. January 2009, 09:13

Dacotah 13. January 2009, 09:26

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 09:54

I think five kids at 28 is pretty impressive. Imagine how many they can get in the years to come! :D

Moesring 13. January 2009, 10:02

Well, I actually pity the triplets. It is bad enough being a twin - being a triplet must be even worse.

gdare 13. January 2009, 10:31

So, Moe, you have twin brother/sister? Which one of you is now here? :yikes:

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 10:44

I didn't know it was bad being a twin. :left:
In fact, I have sometimes wished to be a twin.

ellinidata 13. January 2009, 13:32

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 19:46

Oh dear!

Five sounded bad enough. 18 must be like a religion to have kids. :faint:

Dacotah 13. January 2009, 19:48

I think they are on #20 now. :eyes: :yikes: :faint:

Zaphira 13. January 2009, 19:49

That's ridiculous! :faint:

Dacotah 13. January 2009, 19:53

Yes it is.
I thought my friend with 13 was rough, and she home schools them all too. :faint:

flamingo-rinse 13. January 2009, 19:58

 My infinitely superior half is the youngest of 5 - and she assures me that being at the bottom of the heap wasn't much fun. Her best friend as a kid was the family Dog

Suntana 13. January 2009, 23:22

3 girls at once! :yikes: Do you realize how many pairs of shoes that'll be once they're teens? p: Well, at least they were lucky that with the mom being a triplet herself, it didn't result in sextuplets what with them being the next generation.

Zaphira 14. January 2009, 04:57

Good point about the shoes, Sunny!

I was thinking about the dad too - imagine the queue to the bathroom when they're teens! :faint:
