Honest Movie Trailers

, , ,

Sometimes when I see a trailer for a movie I get all like: "Hey, that looks good, I want to see that!" - and when I actually get to see the movie, it sometimes happens that they've shown all the good scenes in the trailer, and that the rest of the movie is crap. I hate that.

Here's a couple of trailers I found on Youtube that will prevent the feeling of being tricked into watching a movie that can't live up to the trailer. They call it "Honest Movie Trailers".

Titanic 3D:

Twilight:

I'm a fan of the honest trailers and their cousins too, the literal music videos.

As for the travesty that is the Transformers live action film, this is what the fans were hoping for. There's a major difference as anyone can see. mad

For those who are interested, Metroplex gave me what is known in polite company as a sticky pants moment. wink

There was an anaglyphic version of Titanic? What a waste of cardboard shades that must have been! faint .

I saw the 3D version of Titanic, and honestly - the extra dimension (so to speak) worked quite well during the sequences where the submersible was exploring the wreck, but most of the rest of it looked, to my eyes, like 3 plates of glass, each with a different layer of film being projected onto it. It was OK, but no better than the original, i m o - one problem being that you have these bloody cheap sunglasses perched on your nose (in front of your *real* glasses), and it's hard to immerse yourself in the film. It's a space you can watch, not one you can inhabit. That's how it is for me anyway. Less realistic, ironically, than the simpler 2D version.

Post-production 3D reminds me of those old red viewers that one stuck wheels of pictures into. Kinda cool... for about five minutes.

I've tried expressing myself in stairs, but it just hasn't worked out, not at all worried
