Creative advertising

, ,

I like creative advertising. I have an entire album full of photos of creative, funny and/or weird ads.

However, some advertisers can be a little too smart for my likings. Like, when Garnier says in their ad for Fructis hairshampoo: "Fructis. That has been proved" - then it makes me wonder what it is exactly that has been proved...

And the other day in the supermarket, there was a shower cream from Sanex, that made me stop and look one more time. Take a look:

Dermo
re-vital
Omega 6 & AHA

Dermo is something with skin
Re-vital - well, I understand re-vitalizing
Omega 6 is some kind of sebacic acid
And AHA is... umm... yeah, WTF is that???

Is it "Now with AHA"? Or, "AHA, we've got it now!"

They might as well have written: "Not containing AHA!", and everybody would have thought that it was a good thing is wasn't there...

Mantyhose...

, ,

I saw something on the 'Net that I've never seen before. The Mantyhose...

I was amazed! Pantyhose for men - is that a good idea or not?
If it's for some kind of medical reason, and it's under pants, then I'm okay with it.
And it's understandable that a truck driver wear support for comfort and circulation. But those are called compression tights. Not at all the same as mantyhose! I've also known a guy who wore nylons under his pants when he delivered newspapers on cold mornings, in order to stay warm. I feel perfectly fine about that too!
But wearing them because they feel good or look nice? And with shorts? Oh no - I don't think so. Mantyhose just doesn't strike me as very fancy.

Pantyhoses are for girls. Just like bras and g-strings.

That's what I think anyway! And that's why I was glad to read that Danish shops don't intend to import them, at least not right now!

Shoes ~ Again

,

There's nothing that cheers you up like a good round of shoe shopping.

I was taking a walk the other day, and on my way home I passed my local shoe shop. They didn't have anything interesting in their show window, but I felt like browsing around in there anyway. So I went in, having a look around. They did have some cool ones, but the ones I fell for were only in sizes smaller than my feet. Typical! :irked:

I was just about to leave the shop, when I saw something. There... up there on the top shelf... A pair of red pumps. Whoa... I liked them right away, but he only had one size displayed, which is never a good sign. I took them down, turned them upside down and I almost couldn't believe my luck: They were my size!

I tried them on before checking the price, and it felt as if they were sewn just for me! I took a walk around the shop in them, and they were just perfect. I knew I wanted them, so even though the price made me gasp, I bought them. I've learned that life is simply too short for crappy shoes.

Here they are:

Cool, don't you think?

It's not often you see shoes from "Fly" here, which is a shame, because they always have some seriously cool details on them.

This is the underside of the shoes. Cool, eh?

That's how easy it was to brighten up a grey, dull day!
