Music Challenge ~ Week 29

, ,

This is the second to last post in my series of music challenges. It's a little late if you're a new reader, but feel free to hang on - and read the rules here.

Today the challenge is to post a song from my childhood. It would have been more fun if I actually listened to English songs back then, but I didn't. To make it just a bit amusing for you people who don't speak Danish out there, I've chosen a video that could be amusing and/or cute, so there's something for everybody.

The song is called "Min kat den danser tango" (My cat dances the tango):

Cute, eh?

What did you listen to when you were a kid? smile

Music Challenge ~ Week 28

, ,

We're nearly reaching the end of my series of music posts. It's now week 28 out of 30, so now there only this one and two more to go. Read the rules here if you don't know what I'm talking about.

This weeks challenge is to post a song that makes you feel guilty. It reminds me quite a bit about week 13's challenge: A song that is a guilty pleasure, where I posted a song by Right Said Fred. I have the same problem as I had all those weeks ago: I simply don't understand how a song should be able to make me feel guilty!

I'll give it a go anyway, with two videos, because I couldn't decide which one to chose. bigsmile

The first one is with Afroman:

I have to admit that I especially enjoy the two white chicks in the beginning of the video. p

And next one up is Katy Perry:

That's what I can come up with for today. What about you?

Music Challenge ~ Week 27

, ,

Happy Monday everybody - I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I surely enjoyed mine, thank you very much. up

It's time for another post in my series of music challenges, namely #27, a song that you wish you could play.

This is actually quite a fun challenge. Where others play the air guitar, I always play air drums. So I'll pick this very old song with Nazarath, "Night Woman", because it would be so cool to learn to play the drums on this one:

When you post the song that you wish you could play, it would be cool if you also told which instrument you would like to be able to play it on. up

Music Challenge ~ Week 26

So, it's Monday again already. Those weekends sure happen very fast! faint
It's time for another post in my row of music challenges (rules listed here in case anyone forgot them)...
This week is calling for a song, that you can play on an instrument. Hmm. I'm not out of a musical family, really, but I can play one song. One.

Meet the Muppets, performing "When the saints go marching in". bigsmile

Next week's challenge is about which song you wish you could play on an instrument, and I promise you that it'll be a different kettle of fish! lol

Music Challenge ~ Week 25

, ,

We've reached week 25 in my series of Music Challenge (rules are listed here, in case you don't already know them).

This week's challenge is to post a song that makes you laugh. Hm. There aren't many songs that literally make me laugh. I was thinking of posting something with Monty Python, but decided for something a bit newer.

I present to you, The Key of Awesome, with their parody of Maroon 5, "Move like Jagger":

That made me laugh!!

Music Challenge ~ Week 24

Here's another Monday coming up, which means it's time for another blogpost in my series of Music Challenges. Today the challenge is to find a song that I want to play at my funeral.

It's kind of odd for me, since I probably won't be listening to it myself, being dead and all. But I've chosen a Norwegian song performed by a Danish artist, namely Kim Larsen. It's called "Kringsatt av Fiender", which means "Surrounded by enemies".

It's a very beautiful song in my opinion.

The lyrics:

Kringsatt av fiender,
gå inn i din tid
Under en blodig storm
vi dig til strid
Kanske du spør i angst,
udekket, åpen:
hvad skal jeg kjempe med,
hvad er mit våpen?

Her er dit vern mot vold,
her er dit sverd:
troen på livet vårt,
menneskets verd.
For all vår fremtids skyld,
søk det og dyrk det,
dø om du må - men:
øk det og styrk det!

Translated it's approximately:

Surrounded by enemies,
walk into your time
During a bloody storm
Prepare to fight
Perhaps you ask in fear
uncovered, open:
What shall I fight with,
what is my weapon?

Here is your protection against violence
here is your sword
Believing in life,
and what's human life is worth.
For the sake of our future,
Seek it and make it grow.
Die if you must, but
make it bigger and strengthen it!

There are three more verses, but these are the ones I want sung by my funeral.
Thank you for your time and attention.

Music Challenge ~ Week 23

, ,

It's Monday again and time for another post in my series of music challenges. We've reached the 23rd in the row, a song that you want to play at your wedding.

That's quite hard, actually. I mean... at my wedding? Or after?

I've decided to post two songs this week. Because this first song is a must at weddings here, I think.
Brudevalsen - Walz of the bride. They play it and the bride and groom dance while the guests are forming a circle around the couple, clapping and moving closer and closer, so the circle gets smaller and smaller. When there's no more room for dancing, the guests will pull the shoes off the groom and cut the tips of his socks off. left

After that I might want to dance to something a bit more romantic. Hmm... idea

Snow Patrol. Chasing cars!

Chasing Cars was released in 2006 on the album "Eyes Open".

Trust me, this week was *really* a challenge! faint

Music Challenge ~ Week 22

, ,

Here's my 22nd post in my series of music challenge posts. (Read more about the rules here!)

Today's song is a song that you listen to when you’re sad. I don't really listen to music when I'm sad. When I feel down I usually go to bed and stay under the duvet until I feel better.

But anyway - I need to post something. So here's a classic from Aerosmith: I don't wanna miss a thing.

I really love that song and the way Steve Tyler takes me through this great piece of music. The song was originally performed for the 1998 film Armageddon.

*leans back and listens again* happy

Music Challenge ~ Week 21

, ,

I'm currently making a series of music challenges, and when I'm done there'll be 30 of them. We've reached number 21, namely a song you listen to when you’re happy.

I listen to a lot of music when I'm happy, in fact, I listen to the most music when I'm in a good mood, where as I tend to be pretty quiet if I'm not happy.

So something cheerful and bouncy that I would put on when I'm in that kind of mood could be Green Day with one of the songs from their latest album "21st Century Breakdown" from 2009. I've chosen "Know your Enemy because that song always makes me bounce!

The lyrics are... well... not really worth mentioning, but the energy in the song is great, and just me!

Music Challenge ~ Week 20

, ,

It's Monday again, and we're now two thirds of the way through my series of music challenges. If you want to see what it's all about you can click here.

We've reached week 20, a song that you listen to when you're angry. To be honest, I don't listen to much music when I'm angry. I usually prefer it quiet when I'm really angry. But nonetheless - I can't leave a challenge open like this, so I'll pick something that I picture I would listen to when I'm angry.

Get ready to listen to some 80s music. Here's Eurythmics with "Thorn in my Side" from 1986:
