4th and last Sunday in advent

, , ,

I know it isn't Sunday today. I also know that it isn't a day of Advent today. The fact is that this should have been posted yesterday. There's a reason why I only post it today. I'll get back to that later.

Here's what was in my fourth and last advent present:

"What is it?", you might think? I'll tell you what it is: It's bloody hard to photograph wink

It's a big scarf! yes

A gorgeous red scarf sprinkled with hearts - I love it!

And the reason I didn't post this yesterday? It smelled so bad, so it had to have a wash right away lol
I don't know why some shops make their clothes smell really weird!? I wore it for like, five minutes, and then I had to take it off because of the smell.

But now it's nice and clean and ready to wear! happy

Yesterday we had heaps of snow. Today it's all gone, so we won't be getting a white Christmas here, which is fine! I don't like snow very much.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas! Thanks for being such great friends! heart

Ice cold winters

, ,

We have had heaps of snow this winter, and it has been really cold. In fact I don't remember when it was this cold last time. I know it was cold last winter too, and that we had lots of snow as well, but other than that, I don't remember which winters was cold or not.

I've found a place on the internet, that shows some old winter pics from Denmark over the years. It is not winters I remember, but damn, it looks bloody cold. Take a look at these pictures, please.

Here is a house in Vejle in 1979, all covered in ice, so they need a chain saw to get in. bigeyes

And here's the road to the habour, Rødby Havn:

Here's from another harbour, Rungsted Havn:

A train trapped in the snow:

Here's some very frozen ships in the harbour, Aarhus Havn:

These pictures are all from 1979, but there are pictures all the way back til the 1950s on this site.

Now it's time for a nice warm cup of tea! yes

Snow Angel

We've had heaps of snow here again, so it's time to clear the pavement. Fortunately a snow angel showed up. up

Make that a Pepsi Max, please!

No Nakedness Please

, , ,

A family in Jersey made their version of the classic sculpture "Venus de Milo" out of snow. Their over-sensitive neighbours, however, felt offended by the nakedness of the snow sculpture and complained to the police.

The authorities told the family to cover the snow sculpture until it's melted.

My guess is that the two neighbours aren't the best of friends now - I'd be giving them a frosty shoulder for sure if it was me.

Sheesh... Some people! rolleyes

White Christmas

, ,

Will there be white Christmas in Catfiania this year?

The definition of a white Christmas is if 90 percent of the land is covered by at least a half centimetre of snow. We haven't had a white Christmas here since 1995.

Statistically we have snow on Christmas eve every 14th year, and that means that we should be up for one this year. Meteorologists say otherwise though. Temperature rises because of the global warming: From 1961 to 1990, the average temperature for December has been 1.6 degrees Celcius. Last year, however, the temperature for the month was 2.6 degrees Celcius. If this continues, the temperature for December will be 4.6 degrees by the year 2100.

We have had only seven white Christmases since 1915.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...
