Peanutbutter Cookies

,

Here is one of my oldies, but goodies! I didn't make this recipe up myself, but the peanutbutter cookies are very delicious anyway.
Please note that these are not low fat cookies.

ZRS (Zaphira's Recipe Service) gives you:

Peanut Butter Cookies

115 gram butter (4 Oz.)
125 gram cane sugar (4.4 Oz.)
1 egg
225 g crunchy peanut butter (7.9 Oz.)
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
A pinch of salt
0.5 teaspoon baking soda
100 gram salted peanuts (3.5 Oz.)
115 gram flour (4 Oz.)

Whip the butter thorougly with the sugar. Ad the egg and the peanutbutter and whip again.

Add vanilla, salt and peanuts and mix into the paste. Finally add the flour and mix.

Put the paste onto a baking plate by using a teaspoon. Make them cookie shaped by using a fork.

Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 12 - 15 minutes until they are goldenbrown.

Enjoy! :yum:

rose-marie 9. January 2009, 08:52

Or you can just bring one of each sort with you next time

Zaphira 9. January 2009, 08:53

I could, but the problem is that I don't usually bake all sorts on the same day. :D

rose-marie 9. January 2009, 08:56

That's just mean :frown:.

Can't you freeze some of them?

Zaphira 9. January 2009, 09:00

Frozen cookies?! :yuck:

Nah, you just have to come down here several times!

rose-marie 9. January 2009, 09:05

Well, you could always thaw them before I come p:.

But I like your idea much better

Zaphira 9. January 2009, 09:09

It's almost blasphemy to freeze cookies, in my opinion. :D
So I'm looking forward to your next visit!

Suntana 10. January 2009, 02:45

I have no baking skills or patience. So, I made a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich.

Zaphira 10. January 2009, 05:52

@ Molly ~ They really are delicious. If you try them I would appreciate if you would take the time and please write what you think of them.

@ Sunny ~ Jelly, like, jam? Peanutbutter and jam? Interesting combination!

Suntana 10. January 2009, 06:11

Peanut Butter and Jelly / Jam is NOT a common Combo there in Denmark? It is very common here.

Zaphira 10. January 2009, 06:14

I haven't heard of anyone eating that. Peanutbutter, yes, and jam, definitely yes, but together, no.
I had a fluffernutter once though, and like it, but marshmellow cream is almost impossible to get. :frown:

Suntana 10. January 2009, 06:32

And there you have it. It's even on Wikipedia.
I've even read accounts from musicians about before they hit the bigtime and were just struggling musicians out on tour. They couldn't afford much. So, they ate a lot of Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches ... or Baloney & Cheese sandwiches.

qlue 10. January 2009, 11:02

Might I suggest y'all try peanut butter and golden syrup?
When I was young, I always thought that Americans must be crazy, putting jelly on bread. :left:.
Of course, I thought they were refering to the wobbly pudding back then so it really did sound like something a crazy person would do.

Furie 10. January 2009, 12:27

It only happens in America Sunny. Every other country has a modicum of taste. p:

Suntana 10. January 2009, 15:25

Hey, the Wikipedia Info right off the bat mentions the UK FIRST as one of those taste-challenged countries who engages in Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich eating. HAH! So, maybe NOT in the Furie & Kim household, but somewhere in the UK, there is some illegal, shameless PB & J eating going on. :insane:

Suntana 10. January 2009, 15:31

Golden syrup, qlue? You mean like Pancake Syrup? I did that recently when I didn't have jelly ... Peanut Butter & Pancake Syrup sandwich. On some rare occasions when I find out at the last second that there is no bread, I'll even get Peanut Butter & Jelly Flour Tortilla Taco. :eyes: Yep, just spread the 2 ingredients on the tortilla and fold it in half.

Furie 10. January 2009, 15:41

Actually it says that it's known as peanut butter and jam in the UK highlighting the fact that we call it jam while you call it jelly. Doesn't say anywhere that we'd eat it. p:

Moesring 10. January 2009, 15:46

Hey, the Wikipedia Info right off the bat mentions the UK FIRST as one of those taste-challenged countries who engages in Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich eating.

Not to me, it doesn't.

Maybe I'm misreading it but I interpret that to mean

The PB&J sandwich - known as PB & Jam in UK, Canada and Australia - is...

All I could find regarding who eats it in said article isn't exactly conclusive. It merely says that it is popular in USA and Canada - but nothing about other countries. awww

Edit: Bah! Beaten to it.
I knew I shouldn't have spent so long thoroughly checking the page. awww

Furie 10. January 2009, 16:00

Never thoroughly check anything when disagreeing on a tiny point on the internet. It makes the arguments less fun. awww

qlue 11. January 2009, 07:39

I believe that maple syrup is the traditional pancake topping. Although we usually sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over our pancakes. :D. I was thinking more of Lyle's Golden Syrup. Illovo Golden Syrup is also available here but I'm not sure about elsewhere. Golden syrup might not be available in America. :left:

Zaphira 11. January 2009, 08:03

I've never put syrup on my pancakes. I like them with either sugar or jam, or maybe even ice cream and jam. :yum:

gdare 11. January 2009, 08:36

A melted chocolate with pancakes for me, please :chef:

rose-marie 11. January 2009, 11:48

Yes, melted chocolate here too! Or jam :D.

Zaphira 11. January 2009, 11:52

I've never tried pancakes with chocolate... do you use Nutella, or...?

rose-marie 11. January 2009, 13:17

I use chocolate powder (O'boy) and sugar. Roll the pancake quickly, and it will melt from the warmth .
