Kitty's Corner

The Skull

, ,

A German couple found a skull on the beach in Denmark recently. They thought it was a very old skull, but it isn't. The skull has plastic fillings in its teeth, which means it must be the skull of a person who has lived in recent times.

The skull will be sent to the medico-legal institute - to make sure they get proper impressions of the teeth.

The skull is intact, and therefore there is no immediate evidence that the person has been victimized - so the police doesn't think it's the result of a crime.

The police says the finding place doesn't has to be the subject of further studies, because there is no indication that the rest of the skeleton is in the area.

So tell me this: If the skull's "owner" hasn't been victimized, where the hell is the rest of the skeleton???

Freaky FridayRemember my name? Fame!

That would be my question to the police.
Odd...

Stardancer 24. October 2009, 04:40

Hmmmm.

:sherlock:

derWandersmann 24. October 2009, 04:41

Skeletons come apart quite easily ... it's not too surprising to find the skull by itself.

Zaphira 24. October 2009, 04:54

@ Carol ~ Yes, odd indeed.

@ Star ~ Sounds weird, right?

@ dW ~ I suspected that it was something like that, it just sounded so strange.

Stardancer 24. October 2009, 05:34

It does sound weird.

ellinidata 24. October 2009, 05:43

maybe a shark holds the answer...
I hate to think many scenarios of this persons' death...
what surprises me the most is,
of how on earth it was mistaken in the start as an old one?
I mean any police personnel,
any scientist knows to start with the teeth prints... hmmmmmmmmmmm now I wonder who was the genius that started the "old skull rumor, and why?

jekav 24. October 2009, 06:16

Damn sea currents! I need to keep those into account next time...

garlingmatthews 24. October 2009, 07:45

Plastic fillings would make it very recent, wouldn't it? I've never even heard of that before. Do sailors still get buried at sea?

KYren 24. October 2009, 08:27

I have heard about a skull-loving cat. She has a shower curtain with skulls printed on it.

Spaggyj 24. October 2009, 09:10

It does sound strange :insane:

Diabolical 24. October 2009, 09:25

It must be Captain Jack :sherlock:

Furie 24. October 2009, 10:43

The rest of the body is spread between many shoals of fish, some of which will end up on our plates. :chef:

rose-marie 24. October 2009, 10:59

I think I'd freak out if I had found a skull on the beach :insane:

garlingmatthews 24. October 2009, 11:38

Nah, you'd launch into the "Alas, poor Yorrick" speech

Furie 24. October 2009, 11:47

That'd be me. :D

garlingmatthews 24. October 2009, 12:24

Yorrick! :D

Furie 24. October 2009, 12:51

I still think "Alas poor Baldrick..." sounds better.

derWandersmann 24. October 2009, 13:49

Possibly it was Pleistocene plastic.

In any case, the presence of a relatively complete set of dentures should have tipped them off ... most older remains are missing a bunch of teeth.

Zaphira 24. October 2009, 18:19

@ Angeliki ~ Ummm, a shark? I don't believe we have many of them up here.
I don't think there was an "old skull rumour", I just think they said that about the fillings so people should know that someone is missing a friend or family member.

@ Jurjen ~ You're so silly! :D

@ Gavin ~ I don't know if sailors get buried at sea, I would think that some of them do. I still haven't heard if they've found out more, but then again, I haven't been much around my radio the last couple of days.

@ Kiran ~ I've heard that too. But she didn't murder anyone to get it. As far as we know.

@ Kimmie ~ Strange indeed. Some things are just too strange to really explain.

@ Cois ~ Sparrow, I presume. :D

@ Mik ~ Mmmm yum, and I just had salmon for dinner... :insane:

@ Rose ~ I think I would stuff it in my bag and take it home!

@ dW ~ That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that either.

Furie 24. October 2009, 19:09

*imagines a tin of salmon with a photo of a cat on the front*

Is there any contact info?

dbshadow 25. October 2009, 03:46

No. I believe it is mine, I've often been accused of being "Soft in the Head" :raider: :cat:

Zaphira 25. October 2009, 05:08

@ Daxonmacs ~ I'm afraid there isn't! awww Sorry.
It's nice to see you here anyway.

@ Shadow ~ Really? Hmm, I wouldn't have thought...

Minenow 26. October 2009, 02:44

Is this like a Dr Suess riddle?

I donno.

I am still stuck on the plastic fillings part.

Do you know the feeling of regret when you've asked a question that you didn't realize that you weren't going to like the answer to?

garlingmatthews 29. October 2009, 11:22

 I wish I'd never thought of it. I'm just hoping that we didn't just create it... and it might bring in a whole new audience to your blog. :eyes:

Furie 29. October 2009, 11:38

Sadly you didn't just create it if my Hitslink is to be believed. It was part of the longest and most perverse search that ever ended on my page.

garlingmatthews 29. October 2009, 11:50

Great. Now I feel much better. :hat:

Zaphira 29. October 2009, 12:21
