Dreams are what you make of them.

Outside my window or Welcome back!

hi ... Wow... just under six months. We have been busy. I really hadn't forgotten about this ... I just decided to try a new track. I find what happens out side our windows a never ending fascination. I have been doing mini photo essays. This seemed like a perfect venue to display them. These shots are hand held (for the most part). I apologize for the fuzziness of them. I don't have a set plan for the order in which they appear. In a lot of cases I may not remember much info about what was happening. (We do hear a lot of sirens.)

Anyway...As I mentioned we have been busy. We had a our dishwasher breakdown. We had new floors installed. We are both doing well. The pets are well, although they have both been extremely freaked out since the floors went in. Hopefully they will calm down over the summer.
Ah.... summer! We have had a little taste of it in Coffee Central. It was scorching last week. We managed to BarBQ a couple of times. That is on the agenda for tomorrow. Likely chicken. Last week I barbequed chicken quesadillas. The chicken was excellent. I marinated the chicken in coconut milk and lime juice for an hour or so. Just juicy and tender. I can't wait. I am sure glad I know how to cook. I don't know how anyone can go through life and not know how to cook for themselves. It boggles my mind.

There is another reason I have been putting off writing here. I have had a severe bout of homesickness since Christmas. With all the snow this year it has been a little hard to shake.

Its hard to be away from your friends and family. All the people and places you grew up around are part of who you are. Don't get me wrong, I love being here, but I miss that other part of me. We have gorgeous views here, but I miss be able to look out and see for miles. Yet when I speak with anyone there,it really hits me how much I miss it. Of course its changed since I was there. I still cling to that part of the world. I think on some level it is why I started documenting what I see outside. To try and get a sense of home. To make me more of a part of this space. You'd think after ten years here, that I would feel more of a part of this city. I have talked with other people that have moved here and they seem to feel the same way. Its hard to feel a part of Seattle.
Anyhoo ... I hope you enjoy the photos. I have taken a lot over the last six months and I will post them as time permits.

bye

Merry Christmas or It really does snow in Seattle
