Because everyone else is doing it

Baby Einstein

The girls are on the floor watching a TV show called 'Baby Einstein'. Not sure it will make them turn into geniuses but it sure beats Teletubbies. Currently they are learning about the four seasons and the different colors that are associated with them. Maybe I might even learn something ?

Cecilie is repeatedly saying 'Da da da da da' and I am trying to convince my wife that she is in fact saying 'Daddy' but we have not quite come to an agreement on this yet.

They are also trying to figure out how to crawl, so far it is mostly butt up in the air and nose down in the quilt they are on. It is a bit of a scary thought that soon they will be mobile, we will be running around ourself trying to keep up with the little bundles of energy.

Rise of the Godslayer

Age of Conan has released the first trailer of their new expansion.
As a avid AoC player I am really looking forward to this.
Will have to head on over to Craigs desk when he is back and get him to give me access to it

IGN has a sitdown with Craig and can offer you more details about the expansion.

head on over to to read the Interview with Craig

Lifes small getaways

Yamaha FZS 1000 2002

I live about 40 minutes out of town, but with a car it can take up to 1.5 hours to drive to work during rush hours. Luckily with my MC I can lawfully drive in the extra lane set aside for public transportation and I can bypass all the traffic. Additionally they can drive between the lines of cars when there is a jam, it can get a bit dodgy at times as it seems like cars are rather set on killing you. Blinkers are there to be used people, and so are your mirrors!

This weekend I went out with a group of my friends that also own motorcycles on a quick road trip to a small town nearby called Holmsbu. We grabbed a cup of coffee and a yummy shrimp sandwich and had a good time away from the wives and kids.

Unfortunately we got hit rather hard with some rain on the way home, but a cup of hot coffee sorted that out quickly enough. Thanks for the cake Gaute!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Girls

Wow does time fly, my two girls have already made it to 6 months.
Every day that goes by the girls learn new tricks and surprise both their mother and I.
One day they are fascinated by the discovery of their toes, the next they are trying to reorganize your DVD collection.

Cecilie

Alexandra

We did not celebrate their 6 month anniversary in any way, I am hoping they will forgive me for this case of horrible parenting.

unless you count my wife taking them for a walk with their grandparents and buying icecream as a celebration?

I was unfortunately not able to join in for the walk in the sunshine as I had to do some work, but I will have to make it up to them tomorrow and spoil them rotten.

Dark Days are Coming

, , , ...

Funcom
I work for a PC and Consol game company here in Norway called Funcom. In the last 9 years or so I have been part of developing and maintaining two Massive Multiplayer Online games. Firstly a Sci-Fi game called 'Anarchy Online' and secondly 'Age of Conan'. Currently I am Game Director for a new unannounced game in the works, I can't talk too much about that atm, but I will probably bring it up more in the future.

The Secret World
Recently Funcom revealed some more information about one of our other new projects, 'The Secret World'. I have not personally worked on this title, but I think that just makes me even more excited about playing it. The people behind it are extremly talented and the story and setting of the game is very exciting.

Ragnar Tørnquist is heading up the project and with his experience from making games with such fantastic worlds and stories as 'The Longest Journey' and 'Dreamfall' I am confident that we are about to be presented with a new game that will completly immers us.

So go check the game out, the trailer is worth the sidetrip.

The Kids, Picture edition

I finally got around to uploading some pictures of the kids.
They have just turned 5 weeks old, and are growing at an extremly fast rate.
You think that they will stay small for a long time, and suddenly they have doubled in size while you where at work one day.

Will try to update my blog more often now that life has settled a bit more.
The last weeks have mostly been spent on the kids, and not very much on the computer.
My Inlaws has also spent the last month visiting us, and while that has been absolutly great, it cuts into my precious few hours between feeding and nappy change.

Coming Home

When we took them home from the hospital they where so small, almost went missing in their carseats.
Don't they look like small Jet-Fighter Pilots ? I kind of expect them to fly out of their seat when I push the red button.

Alexandra

World say hello to Alexandra in da hood!
She is the bigger of the two with a few exra grams, and a large appetite.
Rather relaxed about life in general and take things as the come.

Cecilie

For some reason I think this one might end up being the little mischief maker of the two.
While smaller than her sister, she has a tonn of attitude.

You have achived a new rank. Daddy

Today the kids actually turned 1 month old... so I have been a father for a good bit of time now.
Things are starting to become more of a routine and life is starting to move forward again.

I will try to post more details soon, but up to now my life has been completly dominated by the kids.

Both the kids and the mom is doing well and that is all you can ask for

Nothing says good morning like -24 C

It's Cold People
Getting up in the morning and having your nose freeze up while walking to your car is not my ideal start to the day. My old car was set up on a timer so it was nice and warm in the morning, but with the new car I have not gotten around to installing this system yet. This is something I regret now. I just had to document this event with a shot from my cell as its a new low for me this year.

Stay warm people

Enough with the snow, you are driving my cat cuckoo

,

The Cat
Let me introduce you to my cat, Restepus (Translation: Leftover Cat). He is dumb as a brick and can't find his own way out of the litterbox, but he has more charm than is good for him. We gave him the name as he constantly came home with new defects from getting into all sorts of trouble. So far he has managed to collect the following warwounds, a broken tail, a gash in his eye, missing a toe and his ear is split.

He has been with us a while now and is getting pretty old. He spend most of his time either on the heated bathroom floor or on top of the freezer warming his old bones, but occasionally he still wants to go outside to check on his territory. Unfortunately with all the snow he is stuck inside, so here is a picture of him looking at me wondering why I don't make all the snow go away.

He has always been crazy about the snuggles, and especially like to nuzzle up under your neck while you sleep. This does however not work out too well with two newborns kids in the house, so he is going to move to my mother for a while. I will miss that little bugger.

Snow
I tend to agree with my cat on the snow after having to go out outside several times a day to shovel it away.. Today I woke up and found my car completely covered in snow. With a wife that is 8+ month pregnant I like to keep the car ready for use. Who knows what might happen in the middle of the night, and spending 30 minutes digging out the car might not be the ideal situation.

Another big news day for us

, ,

Today we had another Ultrasound checkup at the hospital. Both Alexandra and Cecilie are still incubating fine and are turning into the cute little girls that will capture their daddy's heart. The great and thrilling news is that the doctor scheduled the appointment for the c-section. They will be delivered on February 25th at Ullevål hospital. It feels so strange to finally have a day set and something to start counting down towards. Up until now we have worked on a 2-4 week guesstimate and the "end" hasn't really truly been there. Now its set in stone and the clock is ticking away.

My mother also dropped by work today with two Igloo Troller bags for the baby carriage. They will definitely come in handy when we are taking those little girls out into the cold Norwegian winter for a stroll. They are wonderfully soft and cozy, wonder if they come in daddy size as well?

The doctor estimate that my wife will be in the hospital for about 5 days after the delivery before they are all handed over to me for safekeeping. This causes a minor hickup, my inlaws arrive from USA on the 27th. I will have to pick them up at their airport and rush them to meet their grandchildren, then entertain them for a week before my wife can take over. Thankfully I get along with my inlaws just splendidly so it should not be any problems. Cross your fingers for me anyway..
