welcome, change, growth, reality
...

Sometimes we need to be reminded about reality. This typically take the form of one or the other seemingly innocent experience that spark a childhood memory of anguish and regret, which in turn ignite a dozen or so others you had similarly denied and explode with such a force that it shakes the very foundation of what you consider to be reality.
When the the bedrock of your existence start crumbling in the face of revelation there is little time for reason. It is then that it pays to have some kind of understanding that will inform the choice to be made.

thanks, appreciation, Oprah, letter

One of the things that I tend to forget is to say thank you. When you start living you life in presence, and find that everything that happens has relevance, that reality conspire towards meaning, and that the nature of life is for living, stopping to say thank you kind of slips your mind sometime.
I suppose it isn't really important 'per se', but by acknowledging the glory of our existance, and taking time to thank the nature of things every now and then we are reminded how luck we are in life, and get the rare opportunity to bask in the wonder of being alive.
Below you can read my letter to thank Oprah, and true to the nature of living, a lesson I found in gratitude.

sight, wisdom, life, 20/20
...

The idea of Yin and Yang is far more than just another Chinese concept. It resonates with everything we see and don't, even with the sensory organ we use for vision. I just watched a program about a girl that had plastic surgery performed on her eye's. Not the usual bag removal we find so commonly denied, bit re-constructive surgery to repair a birth defect that left her without iris in both of her eyes. Most of what she remembers beyond the gift of sight was glaring bright and filled with constant pain.
Intellect pierce the dark of mind, cutting through the thick of night, baring gifts of sight to blind the lost and show the path to common sense.
The human brain cannot function under either one or the other extreme in light. To have 20/20 vision we need both, much like Yin and Yang.

happiness, wisdom, life, living
...
In the past few years I believe I have grown dramatically, at least if I compare it to my earlier days. I guess it had something to do with my sexual interest, and the whole drama and implications and explanations, and in those days even guilt and shame and betrayal and fear.

Fear sums it all up I suppose. Fear that I would fail at the expectation of others, fear that I would not be able to attain the happiness and 'good living' that I was told possible, fear that I could not be of value to anyone, much less society, fear that I may, by virtue of my abnormality end up in molesting young boys, and believe me, there were some I wanted to! Fear that I was going straight to hell.
It kinds of cramps your style, if you know what I mean?

understanding, how-to, birth, self discovery

Medical technology is a relatively new and rapidly growing medical science, and one of these developments that are still making headlines since it was designed is flow magnetic resonance imaging or fMRI. While it was originally developed to aid the medical fraternity in their diagnostic ability, this technology is currently providing us with discoveries that are literally the stuff of dreams. By measuring the changes in blood flow through the brain during different mental activities, this device is able to tell us more than we ever thought possible about the functioning of one of the most mysterious organs in the body, the human brain.
