Loveless - Poem read by Genesis in FF

,

Prologue
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting.

Act I
Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take it to the sky
Ripples form on the water’s surface
The wandering soul knows no rest.

Act II
There is no hate, only joy
For you are beloved by the goddess
Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds
Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul
Pride is lost
Wings stripped away, the end is nigh.

Act III
My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?
All that awaits you is a somber morrow
No matter where the winds may blow
My friend, your desire
Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess
Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return.

Act IV
My friend, the fates are cruel
There are no dreams, no honor remains
The arrow has left the bow of the goddess
My soul, corrupted by vengeance
Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey
In my own salvation
And your eternal slumber
Legend shall speak
Of sacrifice at world’s end
The wind sails over the water’s surface
Quietly, but surely.

Act V
Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice.

Anonymous writes: You dont have all of Loveless there. You're missing possibly the best part of it. Idk what Act it is but there is a part that says. "Three friends go into battle One is capture, One flies away The one who returns becomes a hero. If we were to play it out Would I be the one to play the hero Or would you." He's talking to sephiroth when he says it. When Zack and Sephiroth first find the tanks creating the Coppies. Its also I think where they first find Hollander.

Act 1 The infinite mystery The Gift of The Goddess is what the three men seek but their fates are scattered by war One becames a hero One Wanders the land and last is taken prisoner But the three are still bound by a solemn oath to seek the answer together once again That must be the 1st act!

Anonymous writes: my interpretation Act I Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take it to the sky Ripples form on the water’s surface The wandering soul knows no rest. The scientists assigned to project (G) Gillian research the Jenovah cells in three ways, that creates the ripples in the waters surface that nearly cause the worlds demise, Jenovah is the wandering soul Act II There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul Pride is lost Wings stripped away, the end is nigh. Religious? I hope so for this next part. Despite the evils of Angeal's actions, he is beloved by the goddess, and is not forced through eternal punishment Angeal never wanted to destroy the world, only to help his friend, Genesis Genesis has other plans for the future Angeal dies Alternative for people like me for all the evils that Angeal did, he was still beloved ny Zack amd in the end he died a heroic death in the body of director Lazard and a monster Angeal never wanted to destroy the world, only to help his friend, Genesis Genesis has other plans for the future Angeal dies Act III My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow No matter where the winds may blow My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return. Can be taken in two ways One: Genesis realizes now what his actions have wrought, but realizes he cannot escape his punishment unless he changes the balance of power there was only one thing that he could use: the Gift of the Goddess he hurries to find what that may be Two: Sephoroth must now face either a doubt or a fact that he is a perfect monster Knowing that he knows that he cannot go back to his old life then he realizes that with Jenovah, his "mother," he could rule the world this meant that he would destroy his past record as a hero and be a fugitive, but nothing will forestall his ascension to power Act IV My friend, the fates are cruel There are no dreams, no honor remains The arrow has left the bow of the goddess My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey In my own salvation And your eternal slumber Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at world’s end The wind sails over the water’s surface Quietly, but surely. Genesis knows Zack beat sephoroth and Angeal, Genesis also realizes that Zack will destroy him if he attempts to use the gift of the goddess but to save himself he must sacrifice Zack, a price he is willing to pay and despite the fight's impact on the future of the world, hardly a ripple was made in the lifeforce that day Act V Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return To become the dew that quenches the land To spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice. Even though Cloud has no guaranteed future, Zack willingly died for him, on one condition, he would carry his honour, and his sword Cloud later becomes the hero, and no one truly hears of Soldier First Class Zack's final sacrifice Agree/Disagree? post a response, I may just read it

Anonymous writes: "Three friends go into battle One is capture, One flies away The one will becomes a hero if we were to play it out Would I be the one to play the hero Or would you." I don't think that's part of the poem, I just think that Genesis is referring to LOVELESS as he talks to Sephiroth.
