Eid & Childhood Memories

As it is said by everybody, the pleasures of an Eid day reduces as you grow older. The childrens are most happy on this day. Why the grown ups cant? May be they have known about things up to a certain amount, and put on things to worry about so much, that disrupts their peace & happiness.
Then I should quote "Where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise"
Come on, what the good comes from worrying about things even on Eid days, when you cant do anything about it, at least on that day? I think the better way is to watch the children enjoying their eid, getting lost in childhood, and become one of the children, at least mentally. But lamenting on the pleasures that I enjoyed in my childhood will definitely spoil my pleasures.
On this Eid occasion, I visited my teen-age love's house. I hardly think of her now a days. But interestingly, when I kept looking at her eyes & face, to find out how much she has changed after her marriage & giving birth to her baby, I unexpectedly found out that my older feeling about her started coming back. Do those feelings never wipe out? And I have enough to believe that she also got her feelings back, about me, may be to a little extent. She followed me to her neighbors house, they were invited there, I was also, but she was refusing to go there even after a while ago.
Then is it true that it is hard (or simply impossible?) to forget the person you first loved?
