The sayings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Mu` meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah`s Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
Abu Malik alAsh`ari reported that the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) said:
"Four practices of the ‘Jaahiliyah’ (pre-Islamic days of Ignorance) will continue to be practiced by my Ummah:

- taking pride in one`s parentage,
- giving a person a father other than his own genealogical father (ie. cursing of one’s lineage),
- believing that rain is caused by some stars,
- and wailing over the dead."
