Arriving Stockholm
Wednesday, 8. August 2007, 21:10:34
It was almost 3 weeks ago as I was flying to Stockholm. It's not just laziness why I didn't write about this last trip, it's more because of exhaustion and wishing to stay at home do nothing. But as usual not all wishes come true, there were many parties and get-to-gethers I attended. I could take a rest last weekend, by falling asleep at 7 pm. on Saturday!, and here is the eagerly anticipated post about Stockholm
I went to Stockholm with one french, one chinese-english and one indonesian friend. It was fun to travel with them but the group was a bit like in turkish jokes. "One French, one Briton and one Turk is in a plane...", well Indonesians are not usual figures of turkish jokes
We had to go to the Airport Düsseldorf Weeze because we chose to buy cheapest tickets we could find. Although airport's name is "Düsseldorf Weeze" it takes more than 1 hour to go there from Düsseldorf by train and you have to take a taxi or bus for about 10 min. to get to the airport. So we spend first and the last day on the way.
The hostel we stayed has a very asocial reception system in the evening. You open the door with the password you got after your reservation and pick your key in an envelope on the reception desk, which is closed in the evening, maybe even in the afternoon. Other than that it's a very nice hostel and it was the best I've ever stayed, the most expensive as well. But prices are OK for Stockholm standarts and it was very easy to get there from the airport Skavsta by bus (takes 80 min.). We could save some money by not using public transportation because we never needed.
The weather was lovely during 3 days and nights. I could realise it's actually summer after spending many rainy weeks in Germany. But don't you think the clouds are a bit strange? They were like closer to earth or maybe more like they were gliding.
It's time to go to bed now. Story of the trip will go on as soon as posible but you can see the photos in the album.
