Kasunsu Edgar 8. May 2009, 12:59

I have seen ice sculptures on TV but none can equal the beauty of this one.
I didn't know ice could be turned into such beautiful work.

Afreen(افرين) 8. May 2009, 16:03

anything can turn beautiful...we just need proper vision to look at things..

Kasunsu Edgar 8. May 2009, 17:02

There is no doubt about that.

Afreen(افرين) 8. May 2009, 17:06

...:D

John Douglas Ball 16. July 2009, 16:24

Well it is cool that is why I like it cause I like all things cool.

Afreen(افرين) 16. July 2009, 19:03

..nice..

John Douglas Ball 16. July 2009, 19:09

So is the picture:up:

Afreen(افرين) 16. July 2009, 19:12

Hmm...yeah these are pics taken from the russian ice festival...

John Douglas Ball 16. July 2009, 19:16

I wish I could have been there in person to see it inall its splendour. It looks as if it was a spectacular show.

Afreen(افرين) 16. July 2009, 19:20

Indeed...Russia->once upon a time....super power.

John Douglas Ball 16. July 2009, 19:21

I thought it still was?

Kasunsu Edgar 18. July 2009, 15:35

I believe it still is.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 15:49

I agree with you Edgar. From what I can see Russia is a beatiful country populated by wonderful people.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 18:35

Well its USA who's the present super power....

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 18:40

Only one of them.Russia is still up there, and thank god as it is the Russians that are keepin the U.S.A
 quiet.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 18:50

Nope, after world war's and stuff, its economy is complete under. At present the country that can compete with US is China, and even India I would say....though Euro has a good market when compared to Dollar and well,if you've gone through some news then..recent news is that, that asian markets are really on a high note,If i remember the company's name was Goldman sachs..

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 18:57

Ah well I am afraid I am a bit behind the times.Just so long as there is more han one super power they can keep each other quiet and let the rest of live in peace. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 19:01

Hope so,which ever country be the super power or whatever...peace is all what we require...,...and hope that be.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 19:07

I agree I have had enough of wars large and small. My country is bad enough I think the poloticians here stll thid England is a super power and we havent been a super poer since before the last world
war.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 19:11

lol,Great Britain......the country who ruled almost whole world and still ruling. Its a pity that still it has not been the super power of the world...but P.M Gordon Brown seem to be okay, not a problem heared after he became the PM there.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 19:17

Well he is no different to all poloticians. They think they know it all!Yet whenit comes down to it they do not know much about anything except how to rip of their constituents. When you say ruled the world what you should be saying is the country that robbed
the world.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 19:22

Everyone is corrupted in politics,if they're not then they're not in the game.,I wanted to say that..but I see that ur a brit,so...just held my tongue...P:,so..now that you've said..so yeah.....ROBBED THE WORLD..ROBBERS.......and well said..,

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 19:32

Well I only speek the truth.I just wish our poloticians would sometimes. The problem is they would not know the truth if it jumped up and bit them. :bandit:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 19:41

Nice, these politicians know everything but do as they like....make up some good money and retire and pity later..that's what they're good at.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 19:52

You are so right I never knew you were so perceptive.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 19:59

P:,thanks...even you are so...

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 20:08

You are very welcome and thank you.You are making me blush:o   :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 20:09

:D :coffee:

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 20:15

:D  :coffee: :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 20:17

but for real, politics is a wicked game...it makes people go greedy about things...

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 20:21

Well I think they were greedy to start with and polotics just gave a vehicle to use to get what they want and don't worry about who gets hut in the process.

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 20:23

yep that's the process.even the good turn into bad.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 20:34

You are not wrong there.Thank God I had a lucky escape.I was selected to stand for local government some years ago.Thankfully I lost or I might have been one of those poloticians I have been criticising. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 20:40

wow, good to hear that...but you'd been a jovial politician ,who knows you'd have become PM by now.....and it would've been a privilege to be talking to a PM of Great Britain..P:,.....

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 20:45

You must be joking me prime minister I don't know whether to be insulted or not,but then I never was very good at making up my mind.Other peoples minds but not my own.Must have something to do withbaing a bit dim.   :jester: :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 20:53

Nah lol,you think these politicians are good at making up there mind? No,they're just puppets in the hands of some intellectual people, you know from there speeches to taking diplomatic decision to almost everything...its the damn cabinet members or the special people working for them....sometimes they don't know what they say.....recent eg: would be Prez Obama at this Cairo meet, wherein in his speech he said japan to be developed or (something)lol,in what way they're developed i don't understand, yeah in gaming and stuff they're good enough but coming to economy..its badly hit,I don't understand even making a world wide impression, japan's economy is still not stabled.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 21:08

I agree. The only thing that was stable in Japan was the automobile industry and even that seems to be going to pot now. They are cloing plant all over the place, and pulling out of deals they were making with established motor munufacurers in other countries.:coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 21:15

ah thanks for reminding the automobile thing, that's cause of recession where the orders are just taken off and lol,..its bad on my part to just judge a country on there economy...but this is what the country is considered by.....even india's economy is not that good enough..but compared to japan we're better off...

Afreen(افرين) 18. July 2009, 21:44

Ohh,sorry but it was Korea I suppose...Prez Obama did mention about japan I guess...but these oriental countries are one and the same when coming to gaming..that's what he was stressing on(gaming industry)...Korea..,remembering korea, they'd done some nuke test and UN was against it.

John Douglas Ball 18. July 2009, 22:51

Well we all know that as far as the USA is concerned the only country who should have nukes is the USA and they probably put pressure on the UN to complian to the Koreans about testing. It is my opinion that no country should have weapons of mass destruction. No matter if it is the USA the North Koreans or even England.Well my sweet young lady it is time for yhis old man to try to do the imposible again and get some beauty sleep. So I will say goodnight and see tommorow.    :faint:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 10:13

Hmm,well what you say is true, but what if a country attack and you don't have anything for self defense?...well in that kinda scenario I think we should have all kind of possible nuke tests and stuff..I don't encourage of having wars or something...but in these scenarios where wars are basis of everything so then...we should be well acquainted with nuke stuff....yeah sure..Good night, and its afternoon here..now..

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 10:21

Yes the problem with abolishing nuce's is that it encouriges war as countries think it is ok they are safe from nuke attack, but the trouble is that just because a country has abolished nuke's does not mean that they have lost the ability to build new ones ehen the need arises.

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 12:24

Well every country shows its excellence whenever they're demanded, showing nukes and stuff...is putting up a stronger side, but more importantly is 'labor' ,that's important in building up any thing..."people"...work power...>is brought by people...>Labor.

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 12:55

You are right of couse. The trouble is the poloticicans can not see that and so their countries are in a mess.I include the so called developed countries in this critisizem. You will have to excuse my spelling it seems to be getting worse the older I get,but I hope you get the ghist of what I am trying to say.

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 13:52

I wish they were no countries, earth should've been the large mass as before....anyway..these are my silly thoughts...P:,well anything can happen...and yeah I do get the Gist of what you're trying to say..,hope you understanding what am saying too.......

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 13:57

Yes I understand perfectly and agree withmost of it,Well all of it realy.  :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 16:26

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 16:31

Now come on thats not fair what possible comment can I mak to that.
Except.        :coffee: :psmurf: :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 16:36

....well,I do agree with you too..on most of it....P:..this is in reference to

I don't mind people disagreeing with me,..well...may be I learn certain things..and you're older to me and you must be knowing a lotta stuff and thanks for the insight ...

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 16:51

I may be older, but that does not make me wiser I have just seen a lot of thing I would rather not see.

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 16:55

Na,you're quite wise...enough....everyone is in...there own way...we just gotta have that wavelength in understanding them..

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 17:05

That good at least someone understands me as I have trouble myself so perhaps you could explain me to me.  :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 17:10

I guess...everyone is understandable...unless they leave there ego's and talk to people..

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 17:16

well I talk to people, but I would much rather listen.

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 17:21

You're smart,smart people mostly listen..than just blabber like me...

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 17:34

If you had seen what I have been writing today there is no way you would call me smart. As I told one lady today it takes me a book to get a sentence out. :psmurf: :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 17:38

you're very selective in getting the stuff right....so still smart...:jester:

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 17:44

Not smart just careful,  :psmurf: :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 17:50

still smart P:....its like thinking a lot before doing anything....careful...P:

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 17:59

Do you know what I am going to do the smart thing noe and stop arguing with you I ahve come tolthe conclusion that i ca'nt win.  :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 18:32

lol,...see you've proved that you're smart..cause argument is not all what we require and sometimes its better not to argue right?..so you're smart in not arguing P:,,..

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 18:38

Thank you.It is a pity the smile box hasn't got a face for I surrender. Then I would know what to do.As it is I am on my knees begging you to accept my unconditionaa surrender, and grovel for mercy.   :psmurf: :jester: rip

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 18:51

Ha ha.....,don't think of ever going on to ur knees....that's not a smart way...but not arguing is simply smart.

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 19:01

well no argument there my dear.It is much easier to just agree with everthing you say even if I think you are wrong.NOT THAT I DO OF COURSE,but it does make for a quiet life. Now my dear I must say goodnight as I am in a lot of pain at the moment and need to take my medication and have some rest.I will speak with you again tommorow. So I will say byw for now.  :smurf: :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 19. July 2009, 20:01

Hmm..okay...I'll not get in to an argument now..so..well sometimes i do feel its better to agree and just end it there..but I feel we're not diplomats,so..well..this is what I think...we can lead a quite life having some decent arguments sometimes.....,oh..take rest..have a good night...Cya!!!

John Douglas Ball 19. July 2009, 20:04

Bye:zzz:   :psmurf: :coffee: bye

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 08:57

:spock:

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 09:13

Good day to you Afreen and how are you today?Well I hope. :coffee: :psmurf:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 18:15

It was a tiring day....just came back...probably have a cup of coffee now..P:..:coffee:

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 18:24

Well my dear it is good to have you back. Now what you need to do is sit back put your feet up and relax. Now are you doing these things if so then we can begin.Just one thing before we start I will not be arguing with you this evening. My brain is too soggy so anything you say tonight my dear is correct.    :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 18:36

All I'd be doing now is to just sleep....But I know..I won't be sleeping....yeah me too, even I won't be arguing much....but I like knowing things, and the only way to keep me up all night is just a lil chat or in other words an argument(you may say so),But I don't consider one's point of view and with the others as argument..but a "good decent talk"... :coffee:

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 18:46

Yes my dear but what when ones point of view is the oposite to the other point of view I suppose that would have to be a frank and open
discussion. :coffee: You will of course noticed I have done away with papa smurf. The reason for this is that I was considering changing my name from the Hulk to papa smurf, but I thought that this may confuse my friend and I do not want to do that so I am staying as The big green monster.

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 18:52

Let that be a free and frank discussion,I don't mind it all...but It should never hurt anyone personally and never be vulgar...,something that you could learn..well..this is how I always learn things...I don't mind learning things from my Jr's nor my Sr's....well..its up to you,to change your name....lol...we're all living in democratic countries..so..do what you like...P:

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 19:02

Well up to now the vote is going in favour of the Hulk and being a democratic person I will go with the magority. My spelling is gattin worse I am sure ia have spelt that wrong.Still I think YOu know what I mean. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 19:10

Majority wins :D...you know you spelt it wrong and still you continue doing so.......

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 19:12

Of corse I do I have to see if you are still awake cout it as yor Enblisg lesson:D  :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 19:16

ah well..hmm,you being a brit should be finding mistakes ..but...am a mixture actually..I guess you're purposely making mistakes...P:...

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 19:21

No it is just that spelling never was my strong point and since I got older so my spelling has got worse I do keep asking my dog but as she speaks in a yorkshire accent and I come from the midlands I have trouble understanding what she is saying.  :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 19:29

I see...well...never heared anyone understanding dogs language...lol..you seem to be an exceptional......and even that dog is an exceptional to talk with certain accent,
great you and great dog.,,....

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 19:51

Yes well I had to learn early as my dad was CAnadian my mom was English and I was brought up in Hong Kong so I had to adapt.p: :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 19:57

hmm...so a mixture,nice ...well...canada was ruled by brit's(europeans ) so i guess they speak the same..i don't know...

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 20:07

Not all a lot of them refuse to speak English and only speak French. It depends on which par of Canada you are in.I think those in Vancouver speak English and those in Quebeck and Montreal speak French.I don't know which part my dad came from as he was killed in the 2nd world war When I was about two so I don't realy remember him. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 20:13

Oh..sorry to hear that....and yeah second language there in canada is french....I guess that's why you hate wars....

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 20:32

It does not help I lost quite a lot of my family to the wars first my dad in the world war then three uncles in tthe Korean war so I am not a great lover of was even though I did my time in the forces. It was not pleasant.I got injured whilst serving in Germany I still had to serv another six years before they decided to invalid me out with a pension of 90p per week now that 90p has gone up to£75 + another £55 mobility allowace seeing as I can no longer walk.I do get a free car eery three years.Well I say free they take £50 of my mobility a week for it,but at least I can get around whenI can get a family member to drive me. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 20. July 2009, 20:41

Were you in army?...yeah defense gives u lot of privileges...but they just squeeze the work out of your body so much so that, that after retirement or anything your body is half dead...I have high regards for defense people.....they truly are by/for/of the nation...unless they're traitors P:()...

John Douglas Ball 20. July 2009, 20:56

Yes I served 8 years in the Army although my first choice was the navy, but my stepdad stopprd me as I was only sixteen. So I had to wait until I was 18 then I had no choice my stepdad got in
touch with the local recruiting office and put me down for the army I think it was because he served for 23 yoers in the army and he thought I would enjoy it,and if I am honest I did enjoy it at first at last I was able to travel the world I went to Cyprus Gibralter Canada Bermuda Barbados The Dominican Republic so I saw a bit of the world unfotuatly the only part of my dads homeland I saw was the airpot termial.Still at least I can say that I went to my fathers homland even if I didn't see it. :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 21. July 2009, 08:29

Well,I guess its easy for defense background children to have an entry in defense, but I guess its equally tough...here for example: the process is quite similar, the recruitment office and stuff, if for suppose someone dies then...there children are easily recruited without any tests. I guess its the same everywhere...Cyprus seems to be a nice place ..you were just 2 when your father passed away, I see that you still know a lot that made you to love him so much..and you should be proud that he died as a martyr ...,..

John Douglas Ball 21. July 2009, 10:19

I am very proud of both my fathers The one died a hero and the other had so many medals I am sure that he walked with a stoop when he war them, and you are quite correct I do still have a lot of feelings for my boilogical dad.  :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 21. July 2009, 18:00

Good to see that you're proud of both of your fathers...

John Douglas Ball 21. July 2009, 18:13

Hi Afreen I am sorry but you will have to be patient with me tonight I am feeling a little depressed.I think I may have upset some of my friend on Opera and I don't know haow as it will be late in their country and they will probably be in bed,but I realy don't like to upset my friends that is not what I am about I would much rather mak someone laugh than to make them cry.You are lucky to catch me I was just takining one more check on my news desk then switching my computer off for the night. The way I see it if I dont talk then I can't offend.Well my sweet friend that is it sorry to burden you with my problems when you have you oenlif to lead but i felt I had to get it off my chest. So goodnightt sweet friend and thank you for listening or atleast reading.bye see you tommorow.

Afreen(افرين) 21. July 2009, 18:35

Hmm,well it depends on how long you've been friends together for you to feel so sad about it,anyway I don't wanna interfere but just will share something, well my sis always says it "Take a Chill Pill",sometimes that statement was stupid but now i just laugh..

John Douglas Ball 21. July 2009, 20:14

Hi afreen your friendly green monsre is back, but remember NO ARGUING I am still a bit fragile and may just break.SO REMEMBER I AM ALWAYS RIGHT EVEN WHEN I AM WRONG OK.    :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 21. July 2009, 20:22

I don't think am argumentive, but if you think so..then...you can(cause its ur brain )everyone is right in there own way, simple..I accept this way...

John Douglas Ball 21. July 2009, 20:33

Hello my sweet genius and hoe are you tonight, mind it may not be night in your country I do not even know whidh country you are talking fromI am sorry for my ignorance and bad manners I should of course found out where you were from whenI first started talking to you,but I thought that may have seemed nosy and that if you waned me to know where you are then you woul have told me.  :coffee:

John Douglas Ball 22. July 2009, 17:28

You see even you are wavering now. This is terrible this is a disaster.I will have to see if I can find my funny pills before I fall into the pit of despair.I think I left them in this drawer somewhere.Ah well Sadie will find them for me the only problem with that is that she will probably eat then then I will have to resign and let her answer my mail as she does now.:yikes:    :psmurf: :coffee: :jester:

Afreen(افرين) 22. July 2009, 17:36

well, they're times where people say things and that just happens to be a joke..hmm..impulse jokes are funnier.I guess...and they're time where you laugh for no reason ...,..so its all background processing in brain...

John Douglas Ball 22. July 2009, 17:44

John Douglas Ball 23. July 2009, 16:22

Hi im back for a short visit as I am going away for a couple of days to get ready for my sons wedding on Saturday. So I can not stay on for too long as I have far too much to do I should have been doing lot of the stuff earlier but I forgot all about it.Thats me in trouble again.Still I can't see why he is complaining I have provided him with a car to use I have organised a driver for him to use I have even had my suit pressed.I mean what more does he want.I hat weddings. :psmurf: :coffee: bye

Afreen(افرين) 23. July 2009, 16:26

Congratulations on ur upcoming son's wedding..hope you have a nice time with your family..and yeah children are always complaining...or may be he's nervous ......P:

John Douglas Ball 23. July 2009, 16:37

He's nervous how do you think I feel he is only getting married I have had to arrange for transport make sure that he has somwhere for his reception write a speach that is not going to make me look too stupid. Then I have got to give the speach at the reception.Make sure everone has a drink for the toast it is never ending. If this goes on I will have to give my next comment from my coffin.   :jester: :psmurf: :coffee: bye

Afreen(افرين) 23. July 2009, 16:48

,.....this is seriously funny.....(comment from coffin)......I Laugh a lot..

yeah he's nervous cause he'd start a new life and .well...yeah he's nervous..you've made a stage set up for him..and still he's complaining...or may be a lil tiff with his would be wife..P:,who knows...

John Douglas Ball 23. July 2009, 16:57

Or cares realy I mean me and his mom do all the work and he sits back complaining.I mean I wasn't nervous on my wedding day.Panic struck but not nervous, and it in't even his wedding day yet and it isn't as if it is his first time this is the second time for him.his first wife died nearly three years ago.So he decided to try again in the hope that he can regain the happiness he lost when his first wife died.

Afreen(افرين) 23. July 2009, 17:09

Oh ok,...Hmm...well,may be he's remembering his first wife and things like that......nevermind just a few days..after that he'll cope up things with his new wife ...

John Douglas Ball 23. July 2009, 17:16

Well I hope so for both their sakes I just hope it is not on the rebound as that would be unfair to his bride as well as himself.

Afreen(افرين) 23. July 2009, 17:29

yeah..true...anyway..hope for the best...

John Douglas Ball 23. July 2009, 17:35

Afreen(افرين) 24. July 2009, 20:03

Na..nothing updated yet....everyone has a day..may be mine was okay ..but i just called it normal..cause to act normal.....well ..to tell you the fact...i've passed this learning license test..so..well..normal day....

John Douglas Ball 24. July 2009, 20:46

Hey congratulations but please don't pass anything else for a while it may take me some time to recover fromtrying to spell that word you know te one net to hey.I am ver pleased for you my sweet.what next is it a probationary licence or full I am afraid I don't know how they do it in India.I know that in England you only have to take one test and that is for you full licence. You will let me know how you get on.   :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 24. July 2009, 21:08

Thanks..,but here its kinda different i guess...well..till last year it was something different..and now its again something new, well they say its something like US process...this was an online test, you gotta clear this in order to get a permanent license..so not a direct one like that of UK.:D

John Douglas Ball 24. July 2009, 21:15

Boy is that comlicated or what. The keep changing it here but not that much. When I passed my test my licence was supposed to last for life, but that has change now I have to reapply every three years.Because of my diabitis. They must think I am stupid enough to go aou driving whilst feeling ill.I meanhow thick do they think we are.:D :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 24. July 2009, 21:21

......well...may be in your days..things were easy..lol..now..everything seems to be challenging..and this online test was fine, you know those signs and other road rules,well..just happen to meet an old person who'd came for the same learning license test today...he didn't knew to actually move a cursor or operate comp stuff..that was pretty sad...i kind of helped him..he was sitting right next to me...

John Douglas Ball 24. July 2009, 21:30

You my sweet girl are far too kind.In my day as you kindly put it our cars were that fast we had to have men walk in front of us with red flags to warn the pedestrians to keep out of the way.    :coffee:

Afreen(افرين) 24. July 2009, 21:41

Afreen(افرين) 24. July 2009, 21:50

John Douglas Ball 24. July 2009, 22:03

John Douglas Ball 13. August 2009, 16:47

My dear Afreen I am sorry but I realy not up to dissing it at the moment I have just checked my blood sugar which is supposed to be within the range of 4.5 and 7.5 .At the moment mine is 2.3 so It is making me feel realy ill.I have had something to eat and a couple of glucose tablets. So all I can do is wait for them to take effect.

Afreen(افرين) 13. August 2009, 17:13

oh,yeah low sugar makes you feel really ill...i mean this happens with everyone too..when the sucrose level just goes down..and you feel very dizzy and its basically not having energy..whenever this happens just eat some candy or some chocolate something sweet in order to get back in level...anyway..get well soon...

John Douglas Ball 13. August 2009, 21:52

Hi freen I am back and feeling much beyyer I had my glucose and a nap I also had something to eat as that has been my problem missing meals and when tou have diabetis this is not clever.Still thats another lesson learned.

Afreen(افرين) 14. August 2009, 07:29
