A lot of guys choose UCLA because of their yellow fever. I knew a few when I was there.

Well, I will happily report that UCLA is the ideal place for anyone with yellow fever.

Jon, unless you actually have an awesome, snide sense of humor and this was intentional, I would suggest running your titles like this by a few folks next to you just to see if, per chance, they might see it as having an alternative meaning.

Wow, very disappointing, dare I say unacceptable.

Not so much the penalties during the KSU game, but the fact that "yellow fever" links to an article about 300 lb. linemen.

You guys are so tacky. You know he didn't mean that...it's a football post. I think most of us get that he's talking about all of the penalties. Only at UCLA would someone mistake the title for what you guys are referring to. (well, maybe some other universities also)

Of course! I'm sure this wouldn't be as unintentionally funny if this were a Nebraska blog.

Uh, I was referring to the penalties, but I think I'm catching on...

Whoops.

He later changed the title to "UCLA offense facing...penalty flags, which happen to be yellow" =P

and truth be told, i'm lying

so save for a few bright spots, this pretty much has been the worst, most miserable, sorry, depressing summer i've ever had, and i'm glad to see it go. i feel like my mentality has changed so much since senior year. it's so weird to look back at pictures and watch videos where i'm enjoying myself just hanging out with friends, as it seems like i'm doing very little of that lately. i wouldn't say that i'm unhappy, more like i feel weighed down. like i know what to expect from the rest of my life, and i realize it's not that great. ah well, at least i'm prepared. but then again, all of this will probably change once i graduate, so we'll just have to wait and see.

i'm really excited to move back down to irvine, and i'm going to try forcing myself into better habits this quarter. the first, and perhaps biggest challenge is banning myself from dota. i never realized how much of a colossal waste of time that game is (ok, that's a lie, but i never cared enough to do anything about it), and it's time i did more productive things.

so what am i going to do with all my free time? second is go to the gym at least 4 times a week. i've gotten unbearably fat at home. i think i just like my mom's cooking too much. but yeah, my goal is to get back to a fit 175. actually, i'm probably lower than that right now, but i just feel so... fat. yeah, not good. that's what i get for being lazy about working out after getting sick.

third is dent my reading list. there are so many things that i want to read, and it feels like the list keeps on growing. currently, it contains the lost symbol, the adventures of sherlock holmes, count of monte cristo, frankenstein, mathematics and sex, paperboy, foundation, the vor game, ender in exile, digital fortress, one or more of the obama books, one or more of the wooden books

lastly, i want to spend 10 minutes a night looking at CS mock interview questions. it's really about time that i took this whole job thing seriously. yeah.

this is the best thing to come out of the brett favre saga

hahaha. i can't believe he agreed to do that.

so it was a great weekend. first, i'm so incredibly proud of our team. to go into knoxville and knock off tennessee is a HUGE task, and for a team as young as ours to do it really shows that we're heading in the right direction. and even though i didn't get to watch it because it was at the same time as ours, the michigan ND game was absolutely nuts. too bad chris forcier wasn't as talented as his younger brother. and i feel kind of dirty saying this, but i'm glad $c beat osu. the pac-10 has enough respect issues as it is, and losing to a weak conference like the big-10 certainly wouldn't help things. it'll just make us look that much better when we beat them in november =)

it was also NFL kickoff weekend, and i'm proud to say my fantasy team DOMINATED. drew brees threw for 6 touchdowns or something absurd like that, while the eagles defense got 7 turnovers and a score. So yeah, i think i'm beating aaron 130-60 right now lol. bottom line: my team will be unstoppable once marshawn lynch comes back from suspension. there were some great games today, too, including brandon stokely's miracle tipped TD reception and aaron rodgers come from behind win to own jay cutler.

i leave you with some of the awesome things i saw on tv this weekend. enjoy!

this is one of the sweetest videos ever. i wish i was there.

wtf. this is unfair. federer = imba. oh, lol @ nadal.

edit:[/i] kanye west is such a dick. and beyonce is awesome for what she did to make it right.

This weekend, I learned that an amazing wine is good enough to get you laid. Thanks, bottleshock.

Having a different genre of bad dream was refreshing for a change. Hopefully this one doesn't come true.

also, my alcohol tolerance is probably about 1/4 of what it used to be. damn.

goodbye to you

as promised, here are the videos i took from the michelle branch concert. i would have posted them sooner, but it took me like 8 tries to upload the last video because my internet kept randomly dying on me during the upload process. i had a really good time at the concert, and it was tied for the highlight of my weekend (which is pretty damn good, considering i went to blizzcon.) the video quality isn't stellar (a lot of it is the back of the person in front of me's head), but the audio is pretty good, which is the important part. i didn't record the opening, "game of love," or the wreckers song. enjoy!

lol

i couldn't stop laughing for like a minute after watching this video hahahaha
