Japan: Land of Shugyo

Today and yesterday I configured our workplace Hewlett Packard Designjet 5000PS to work using CUPS 1.3.7 under Ubuntu Hardy and Debian unstable on my AMD64 machine.

All went perfectly using the socket interface on port 9100, and printing the test page was problem-free. The only odd thing I noticed is that despite changing the quality setting from productivity to highest quality the output resolution remained at 300x300 dpi with no visible change in quality.
