Forever More - Words On Black Plastic (1971)

1. Promises of Spring
2. The Wrong Person
3. Last Breakfast
4. Get Behind Me Satan
5. Put Your Money on a Pony
6. Lookin' Through the Water
7. O'Brien's Last Stand
8. Angel of the Lord
9. What a Lovely Day

I remember listening to Forever More with my brother back when we were kids. It was one of our favorite albums at the time. This, and their first album Yours, were so different than a lot of the other music we were listening to at the time. I've tried to find out more about this band, but there isn't much out there. I did read that Alan Gorrie went on to play with the Average White Band, but don't let that fool you, Forever More sounds nothing like that.

When I started buying CDs, one band I always wished would be released digitally was Forever More, but alas, that never happened. So, I've digitized it for your listening pleasure. Unfortunately, my copy of the LP wasn't in the mint condition that my other albums are in, so this isn't as pristine as some of the other albums in my blog. But I have spent a lot of time removing clicks and pops as best I can. If you love this album as much as I did back in 1971, you will definitely enjoy hearing it again.

Band:
Alan Gorrie - Bass Guitar, keyboards
Mick Travis - Guitar
Onnie Mair - Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vocals
Stuart Francis - Drums, Vocals

Encoded at 320K from original vinyl album. Includes album cover artwork.

Do you have the real cover?

The cover you are ahowing is not the original, and is lame to boot... Ah that is not your fault, it was record company censorship.

thank you for posting this.

What was the original cover. I've had this album from the beginning. I would love to see what the original one looks like

Wow, Big-D, what a wonderful surprise it is to stumble upon your blog re Forever More. I've been wanting to hear a tune that was on the radio back in October and November of 1970, "The Wrong Person" for over 30 years without success until today, thanks to your post. Even better, you've turned me on to "O'Brien's Last Stand" which I'd otherwise never known at all.

With appreciation, MrG

Anonymous writes: thank you very much. my father once gave me a tape full of songs that he recorded from the radio a hundred years ago and still doesn't know, who played them. I am always trying to find it out, so that I'll have a great birthday or christmas LP for him. So thanks for letting me listen to Forever More. There are two FM songs on the tape and I just found the record on ebay. greetings from Munich.

Robert M writes: This is the second Forever More album, "Words on Black Plastic" and it is, in fact, the original album cover. Their first album, "Yours" was red with valentines on it. RM

Copy this link "http://rapidshare.com/files/1499991/fmy.rar" into your web browser. That will take you to RapidShare. You may have to wait a minute or so before you can download it. Then you need to get a RAR program for your PC. This lets you un-RAR the file you just downloaded. sometimes you need to enter a password to un-RAR it, but I don't think he has a password on this one.
Good luck!

Anonymous writes: In England, "Yours" was released with a different cover and name, "Paint It Yourself"; the cover was simple uncolored drawings, as I recall, with the idea being that you would fill in the colors, I presume, if you were so inclined. (I prefer the American "valentine" cover). Both albums are fantastic IMHO. They were available on one CD (German, I believe), for a while. Scott

I wish I would have purchased the CD when it was available... Would love to see the other cover.

Anonymous writes: Great band, both albums are still available on one CD. I picked it up on Amazon a couple of years ago. It was $20 or so. Completely worth it. You are to be commended for giving people a taste of one of the best unsung bands of all time Big D. I never turned anybody on to these records that didn't love them.
