The Selfish man

devil devil beer furious Once upon a time, there was a selfish man. He liked everything to be his own. He could not share his belongings with anyone, not even his friends or the poor.

One day, the man lost thirty gold coins. He went to his friend's house and told him how he lost his gold coins. His friend was a kind man.

As his friend's daughter was coming from an errand she found thirty gold coins, when she arrived home, she told her father what she had found. The girl's father told her that the gold coins belong to his friend and he sent for him. When the selfish man arrived, he told him how his daughter had found his thirty gold coins and handed then to him. After counting the gold coins the man said that ten of them was missing and had been taken by the girl as he had forty gold coins. He further commented that he will recover the remaining amount from him (the girl's father). But the father refused.

The man left the gold coins and went to the court and informed the judge there about what had taken place between him and the girl's father.

The judge sent for the girl and her father, and when they arrived asked the girl how many gold coins did she find. She replied thirty gold coins. The Judge then asked the selfish man how many gold coins did he lose and he answered forty gold coins.

The judge then told the man that the gold coins did not belong to him because the girl found thirty and not forty as he claimed to have lost and then told the girl to take the gold coins and that if anybody is looking for them he will send for the girl.

The judge told the man that if anybody reports that they have found forty gold coins he will send for him. It was then that the man confessed that he lied and that he lost thirty gold coins but the judge did not listen to him.

This story teaches us to be always honest as dishonest never pays.

Concentration Opens the Door to Success

The first law of success is concentration.
Bend all your energies to one point,
and go directly to that point,
looking neither to the left nor the right.

By focusing your efforts to a single point,
you'll always achieve the greatest results.
If you concentrate your efforts on a few major goals,
your efficiency will soar, your projects will be completed,
and you'll be going somewhere.

Focus totally on the business at hand
and command yourself to do exactly what you want to do.

If you focus the full power of all you are
on what you have a burning desire to achieve,
you'll attain success.

Cheers!!!

Life still has a Meaning !!!!!

love
If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

The Boy and the Apple Tree

love THE BOY AND THE APPLE TREE

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the treetop, ate the apples, and took a nap under the shadow. He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.

One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.

"Come and play with me", the tree asked the boy.

"I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees any more" the boy replied.

"I want toys. I need money to buy them."

"Sorry, but I do not have money, but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money."

The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited.

"Come and play with me" the tree said.

"I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?"

"Sorry, but I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house". So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted.

"Come and play with me!" the tree said.

"I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" said the man.

"Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy."

So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you", the tree said.

"No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite" the man replied.

"No more trunk for you to climb on".

"I am too old for that now" the man said.

"I really cannot give you anything, the only thing left is my dying roots," the tree said with tears.

"I do not need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years," the man replied.

"Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest, come sit down with me and rest." The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.

This is a story of everyone. The tree is like our parents. When we were young, we loved to play with our Mum and Dad. When we grow up, we leave them; only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble.

No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could just to make you happy.

You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that is how all of us treat our parents. We take them for granted; we don't appreciate all they do for us, until it's too late.

Cheers!!!

Nambiar

knight Nambiar

Nambiar

(Nambiyar,Nambier) is the title of either a Kshatriya caste from Kerala in South India or a much smaller group of members of the Brahmin Ambalavasi caste, also from Kerala. Nambiars are found mostly in the Kannur district in North Kerala. The Kshatriya Nambiars are considered to be the second highest Kshatriya sub-caste, second in command to the Rajah (King) like the Unnithans of South Kerala or Travancore.
[edit]

Origins

All Nambiars are generally considered to be Arya (or of Indo-Iranian origin), having migrated to Kerala with the Namboothiris from outside India (See Aryan Invasion Theory). Their non-indigenous (non-Dravidian) origins are affirmed by their often ligher complexion (and often lighter eye colours), sharper features and above all their distinctly different customs and traditions, which are in fact strikingly similar to North Indian and even Indo-Aryan customs and traditions.

The origins of the name "Nambiar" is thought to be a variation of "Namboothiri" (the brahmins whom the Nambiars accompanied from outside Kerala, and who are thought to have a common background) and "Nayaka" meaning ruler or leader.

Dynasties

Many Nambiars are of the Nagavanshi (Serpent Dynasty), however others can be linked to Rajput dynasties, such as the Suryavanshi (Solar Dynasty), Chandravanshi (Lunar Dynasty) or the Agnivanshi (Fire Dynasty).

Postion in society

They share the same occupation (that of a warrior and ruler) as Nayars and thus they are classed as Nayars, although they are of a different race to the them, who many consider to be of Dravidian in origin. However often the Nayars, who were a martial nobility, would take part in menial tasks during time of peace, and they have been considered to be both Kshatriyas and Shudras. Unlike the Nayars, Nambiars were appointed by Rajahs to command armies, controlling the Nayars, Kurups and other Kshatriya clans in war. The Nambiars considered the Nayars to be lower than them in social status and practiced Aitha, or untouchability. The Nambiars played a major role in upholding the rigid caste system along with the Namboothiri Brahmins, which in the past, involved the oppression of lower castes.

The Nambiars, also as a warrior caste, were closely affiliated with the practice of Kalaripayattu, the earliest form of martial arts in India. Along with the Kurups and Panickers and other Nayar sub-castes, they formed a pivotal role in the ruling of Kerala, serving as ministers in the Rajah's court to oversee the ruling of the land. In particular the Thampis and the Nambiars from North Kerala served as military commanders, helping to develop Kalaripayattu and other warfare techniques. Along with Namboothiris and a few other Nayar sub-castes, Nambiars received a formal education, an opportunity that was not available to commoners at the time, and thus they played a great role in the development of astronomy, mathematics (particularly algebra and geometry) and other sciences.

As a learned and powerful caste, Nambiars were extremely influential in the past, and although much of their power was significantly reduced during the British Colonial rule and Muslim invasions by sultans, they still maintain respect from the community and retain a sense of nobility today.
