Shrove Thursday

The name Shrove comes from the old word "shrive" which means to confess.
In the Middle Ages, people used to confess their sins
so that they were forgiven before the season of Lent began.

In Poland celebrations take place on a Thursday - a week before Ash Wednesday
and so it's Tlusty Czwartek, or Fat Thursday.

Today we eat PĄCZKI

and FAWORKI

I read that Polish ppl will eat 100 mln doughnuts today

It's 30 mld calories!!

And now I have to post 6 unimportant facts about myself.

But firts rules:

Ok, so here it is:

1] I always waiting with everything to the last moment.
I say to myself -oh, you have time, don't worry, you've got good memory,
you learn quick..
It's my way getting things done at crunch time.

And in the end I know I could have done everything much better..
I swear to myself I'll never do it again... but i do..

2] I'm left-handed . But not quite 100%.
I only write, cut bread and comb hair by left hand.
Another things I do by right hand
(like eating with a fork, using scissors or playing tennis, badminton) .

3] I spend too much time on the net. I woke up and check my e-mails.
I come back home and do the same thing. I spend half night online
(or maybe longer...)
I feel angry when my connection drops

I need internet rehab

4] I love coffee

I drink it immediately after i checked e-mails

5] I'm sleepyhead. I hate get up early.
When I have day off I'm able to sleep by 2 pm.

6] I don't like when someone use my things without permission
or invert and put my books somewhere else

It's SNOWING !!
WHY ?? NO !!!
I hate snow.

Ok, first it's look great - flakes of fluffy snow
clad every tree and street.
Cold, dry snow is beautiful as it coats the landscape.
But later ?? In the city ?
Only SLUSH..

My friend booked 2 couches and tables in a pub
almost 2 weeks ago.

I just called to confirm a reservation. And what i heard????
-i'm sorry, we have no reservation in your name.-
WTF!!??!

Some kind of joke.. Noooo, it's a stupid barman!
He didn't registered it. JUST GREAT

WRRRR!!!!!!!
So tomorrow we'll be celebrate my birthday at the 2 little tables.
Everything else is booked. SHIT.
If I meet that barman tomorrow I'll KILL HIM!!

Dzisiaj pierwszy raz dłużej "pomamłałam" Szymonka

Nawet się uśmiechał do mnie, bo wcześniej to mu nie za bardzo wychodziło

Przyszedł w odwiedziny do swojej babci, ale to ja dostałam za zadanie
pilnowania małego. Podczas gdy wszyscy sobie konsumowali ciasta, ciateczka
i popijali kawusią, ew. herbatką- ja robiłam z siebie

co bardzo przypadło
do gustu panu S. Haha, co gorsze- mnie też się spodobało.. Miękne na stare lata.
A kim wogóle jest Szymon..?

Poles celebrate many non-church occasions, including:
Women's Day (8 March), Mother's Day (26 May) or Children's Day (1 June) -
the latter festival being the date of innumerable children's events.
Grandparents have their special days too:
Grandma's Day (Dzień Babci)
is a holiday celebrated in Poland on 21st January.
Grandpa's Day (Dzień Dziadka)
is celebrated on 22nd January.

This days grandchildren wishing a happy Grandparents Day and many, many more
