The Way I See It

When I started working at the library my coworkers said:
"be prepared You'll meet here all kind of persons- nice, well-mannered, young, old"
(That's obvious I like them )
"..but also jerk, stubborn, rude."
It's lucky that the firts group is much more bigger than second.
What pissed me off the most..It's simple-the second group

Sometimes library patrons are not educated enough in using library resources-ok-
i'm happy to help users who don’t have the faintest idea how to use the Internet or library catalogue,
but also library patrons are sometimes LAZY!! They don't even try to find the book.
They just show me list of 20 books they want goddamnit computer catalogue don't bite
and it's easy to use.
And patrons who always say they don't have time to search catalogue and books they need it
What the #$*! Do I have time? Do I look like search engine?
I have others to help and I can’t hold one person all day..

Uhh-other kind of patrons-who came and want:
-e.g "something about economy. I need to write a thesis"
what exactly do you want? "I don't know. Economy."
geez, it's really wide term. We have hundreds of economy books..
-just a book. "Oh, I don't remember the author and title. But cover is red"

this information helped me a lot..

I won't write about smelly patrons.. I leave it to yours imagination.
No more complaining just library anecdote i found on some website:

Patron: "I am looking for a globe of the earth."
Librarian: "We have a table-top model over here."
Patron: "No, that's not good enough. Don't you have a life-size?"
Librarian: (pause) "Yes, but it's in use right now."

I went to the zoo today with my friend B
The Zoo in Warsaw was founded in 1928 so it's 80 years old.
I tried to remember when I was at the zoo last time but I coudn't..
It was sooo long ago..
Anyway we went there to hang out, to take photos and see the animals of course.

Bartek was delighted The Insectarium i liked giraffes, kangaroos..- a normal animals
I think we saw almost all exhibits, unfortunately some animals
was hiding or not home today (e.g polar bear, hippo)
Well, no wonder, it was so hot today
You know what.. it was strange feeling to watched all this animals walking around their pens
(over and over again..), birds closed in cages..
It's so sad. I know that zoo run school lessons, lectures for students,
promote a good attitude and a certain responsibility to nature,
also take part in some programmes whose aims are to save endangered species but still..
this type of recreation is just not for me..
