Is it just me that feel a small annoyance when I try to read through new local (=English UK and/or Norwegian for me) blog posts, and I see many asian blogs which I cannot make heads or tails of. Please change your blog's language to whatever you are using, should you read this. ;-)

Don't you agree that the right to choose what to write about as well as language are vital parts of the "blogging" style of web publishing? Just one guys thoughts..

Well, yes, I do. The thing is just that people are filling the "local" channel for me with very non-local posts. Since I have specifically chosen to read English and Norwegian to watch, I'd be happy to read what I can understand. Chinese is, unfortunately, not in my reach.

Of course, there may be multilingual blogs which blogs in, say, Norwegian and English, and that's entirely okay. I just noticed several blogs earlier today that were in one language only that showed up under the local category.

I think they're just doing what there is to do. How it gets classified may not be up to them. Or there are possibilities that they don't understand. They just point and post. Even though I'm native to english it takes a while to learn this site.

I they're correctly identifying themselves to Opera then they shouldn't show up in local channels, it's either an Opera problem or they're not completing their details correctly. Now I've got to go and check my 'about' page. I can't remember what details we do get asked for...
