From the infectious first single "Prepare For the Fight" to the Dummies Mix of "Flight" that conlcludes the disc, you'll me cast under the spell of this farely unknown group. Of course, people will say that they are yet another revival of the 80s- bring fun synth pop for the new generation, as many bands in 2005 were herald. The difference here is that it works! Other bands have fallen by the wayside in short of a year that have attempted this, except say the Killers. Now here's a band that's just as fun as the Killers, with some "killer" hooks. As I said, "Fight" is one of the disc's highlights-starting slow and building to the massive chorus. Highlight #2 is the hip-hop riff of "Shake That Ass". For those fans of the mash-up who have found the "Disco Inferno"-infused version online, the tracks seem to go hand in hand. On its own, the original version is well worth the listen; almost as fun and comical as the BEP's "My Humps". Unexpectedly one of my favorites on the cd is track "Falling Apart." Reminiscent of early 90s band Toad the Wet Sprocket; it's virtually synth free. Instead, the song depends on the horrowing vocals of lead singer Scott Blond, hammering drums and guitars, and simple lyrics--if "Fight": doesn't become the crossover success, this is definately the the ice-breaker!! The rest of the cd continues on as a synth-pop indulgence and will make you yearn for the years Human League and the early 80s-Depeche Mode ruled!!! Remember their name- They will be big in 2006.
